The PPV is heading off to a positive direction with the matches booked so far. We'll get to see a light of what Lashley can do in the main-event, headlining his first PPV main-event, as well as what Kennedy can do against a high-profile worker like the Undertaker. Of course, the matches itself look promising when you think about Booker and Lashley's feud before Booker's World Title run, and also the combination of Taker/Kennedy in the ring for the first time.

Other speculated matches worth noting down for booking like Batista vs. Finlay, Rey Mysterio vs. Chavo Guerrero (under some stipulation probably too), Matt Hardy vs. Gregory Helms (for the title this time?), and even a three way battle between the Londricks vs. Pitbulls vs. Teacher's Pets.

I think this PPV is on Sky Box Officer this time, I am not so sure though. Either way, if the card looks potentially entertaining, and it already is looking that way might I add, I'll give it the nod and order it too.

Fab wallpaper just for the record. I'm using it right now.

This show has the potential to do record low buy-rates, IMO, unless WWE has something special in store, because I don't see much to get excited about with either of the two announced matches.

I mean my opinion could change and all when the rest of the card takes shape, but even still, I don't see people shilling out $40 for a match they've seen an unexaggerated half-dozen times in recent months and an Undertaker match.

I think the card will turn out solid and everyone will bust their ass to give people their money's worth, but if this buy rate doesn't tank, I will be shocked.

This PPV card is already in my books, set to overtake Unforgiven as the best Single Brand PPV (even though I still think SD! already holds that title with No Way Out.)

Even if I had to pay for this on Sky Box Office I would. And for a single brand card, that's saying something.

Booker vs. Lashley looks set to become an epic main event, with Lashley paying his World Title dues in my opinion, since he is fairly new and should wait a while before clinching World Gold.

Kennedy vs. Taker looks awesome two with a fresh rivalry for the Undertaker, hopefully which sparks a new lease of life for the deadman. ( :P see what I did there.)

would had been interested in a triple threat match for the HW title, with Bastista involved. Been waiting a while for Bastista to face Lashley.

This PPV is looking like it could be one of the best of the year IMO, and I have no money to be spending on PPV's at the moment :(.

There's something about this PPV that gives me the impression that the WWE can't screw things up like they have in the past. This sounds good, including what has not been officially announced, on paper and I believe it will turn out that way.

Info for first two matches

On the Sept. 15 edition of SmackDown, Lashley defeated intense rival Finlay to become the No. 1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Championship at No Mercy. On Oct. 8, he will enter King Booker's kingdom and challenge him for gold.

Lashley and King Booker have clashed on several occasions before, but never with so much on the line. What will happen with the World Heavyweight Championship is at stake? Will King Booker stand for Lashley invading his kingdom? Can we see an overthrow of the Royal Court? Find out at No Mercy on Oct. 8, live on pay-per-view.

Shortly after becoming United States Champion, Mr. Kennedy promised to make a major announcement on SmackDown. Kennedy told SmackDown fans that he had beaten everybody there was to beat on the SmackDown roster and, therefore, he should head to RAW. General Manager Theodore Long, however, had other plans and reminded Kennedy there is one Superstar he has yet to defeat, Undertaker. At No Mercy, the United States Champion will face the Deadman whether he likes it or not. Will Mr. Kennedy prove he is as good as he says he is? Or will Undertaker put Mr. Kennedy in his place? See for yourself at No Mercy on Oct. 8, live on pay-per-view.

I find that unlikely since a couple weeks ago Cole said "... of course Hardy now too heavy for the cruiserweight division" or something along those lines and in "Matt's Mailbag" on WWE.com he said "As the rules currently state, I am too heavy presently to wrestle in the cruiserweight division." Not to say that WWE couldn't overlook it but I think if it happens it will be more of a grudge match.

I think No Mercy is shaping nicely right now. I like the way it's looking so far. Hopefully Londricks have some kind of specality match type for their Tag Team Titles.

They announce last night two more matches. Batista vs. Finlay and Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio. Somehow the Guerreo/Mysterio match might have a stipulation. Maybe a Cage match to keep Vickie from interfering.

I doubt it will come to that, at No Mercy that is. Reason being I can see their feud accumulating all the way up to Survivor Series with some "major" stipulation added.

I expect this to be a great ppv. Smackdown has better wrestling these days than all of the other brands. Expect Finlay vs. Batista to bring the house down.

Agreed, if they were to add a stipulation to the NM match I'm not sure Rey's knee could handle two gimmick matches in the span of two months.

How come Matt is heavier than Helms?
I think Gregory Helms is also very heavy to be in the cruiserweight division, btw.

Because Matt always eats wheneever WWE isn't using him, which is like, all the time.

Anyway, I agree, Helms does look pretty big for a cruiserweight.

I think these two matches look good. Even though it would seem kind of soon for Lashley to win the World Title, I would still like to see it happen. If that did happen, then I predict he would lose it soon, like the U.S. Title. I also want to see the outcome of the Kennedy/Taker match.

I just want to point out that Helms/Hardy isn't a Cruiserweight Championship match, or it would say so on the black line under Helms and Hardy.

Okay maybe No Mercy will see the "minor" stipulation being the 'Falls Count Anywhere' match that will lead up to the "major" stipulation at Survivor Series. :?

Oh and after seeing this week's SmackDown! SPOILERS, the card is shaping up nicely indeed.

I wouldn't be surprised, especially since I figured out via wikipedia that one of his signatures is a version of the crossface. I have a feeling WWE will have MVP go over Benoit with the crossface. I would hate that, but I am a Benoit mark.

I really think it will be Vito. He did have that whole mini feud with him saying he'll take him on when the money is right. But if it is Benoit, thats gonna suck.

I'd agree with bulletproofcow on his opponent being Vito. If it is Benoit I sadly think MVP will go over Benoit, and I'm not for that at all

Benoit's been out for so long, to have him come back and job to someone making their in ring debut, expecially someone like MVP would just be a sin. It has to be Vito just for the sake of making sense......wait it's WWE............yeah it's going to be Benoit.........*shakes head in dissapointment*....

Yeah you're right, I'm sure they wouldn't shove Benoit up against MVP in his return(well this still is the WWE, so who knows), seeing as the main event scene is weak and could definately use him.

I wonder if they plan on having MVP face someone like Funaki or Scotty 2 Hotty and then have  him lose proving(in kayfabe) to be overhyped/overrated, and then become a jobber like them. That would be pretty funny.

Apparently I'm not the only one with reservations about Lashley headlining a PPV:

No Mercy main event changed to Fatal Four-Way
Oct. 3, 2006

For the first time in SmackDown history, a pay-per-view main event has been changed with less than a week to go before the event. General Manager Theodore Long has ordered Sunday’s World Heavyweight Championship Match to be changed to a Fatal Four-Way.

Per the General Manager’s orders, King Booker will now be forced to defend his gold against not only No. 1 Contender Bobby Lashley, but also former World Heavyweight Champion Batista and Finlay.

As always, the rules of a Fatal Four-Way are simple: the first Superstar to record a pinfall or submission will take home the gold. Stay tuned to Friday Night SmackDown for more on this breaking story.

Also, its the first time, at least in regards to more recent history, that I can remember that main event has been changed twice... For that matter, we could be seeing third change before the match happens, if they are any more violaters to Wellness program and/or if somebody injuries himself...

I personally think Lashley could of pulled off a good match, but it just isn't his time to have the belt yet.

I agree with Zach that Batista pins Finlay winning back this championship.

I think I know why the main event is a fatal four-way. Finlay could turn on Booker in the match initiating Booker to disband Booker's court and be part of the reformed nWo. It could happen. Stranger things have happened in the past.

I think its cause WWE wants to keep the belt on Booker longer (At least I hope so) but they dont want to make Lashley lose to Booker. The court will play a big role in this matchup I think. I think how they even came up with these two feuds so quick in the first place was a little odd.

Various News: No Mercy Main Event

WWE changed the No Mercy main event because they decided that nobody buys Lashley as a top contender and that Batista, who is viewed by the top draw on Smackdown, needed to be put into the main event to save the buyrate.

Ehhh...this actually makes me less interested in the main event. Finlay is good and all, but he just looks completely out of place advertised for a PPV main event, and as for Batista, I really don't care for him much anymore.

I was looking foward to seeing what Lashley should do in the main event alone with Booker.

Thats dumb, they push Lashley so hard too. Whats the point of putting the guy over so much if your not confident trying him out in the main event? It also seems like Batista is slowly losing his flare.

WWE changed the No Mercy main event because they decided that nobody buys Lashley as a top contender and that Batista, who is viewed by the top draw on Smackdown, needed to be put into the main event to save the buyrate.

I've said it before, I think Lashley could of performed fine in the main event but oh well. I just hope they don't completely drop him just because they realised they pushed him to hard to soon.

I think this has very little to do with the kind of performance Lashley can put on and everything to do with selling PPVs.

And I seriously doubt that WWE will abandon Lashley, unless he has a few more unusual enzyme problems.  I think when Vince goes to sleep at night, he dreams about Lashley.  Mr. Personality's going to be around a long time, unless he decides to try his hand at football, or something.
