A trio of questions
September 25, 2006

There are three burning questions in the minds of the RAW fans as RAW heads to Oklahoma City this week.

Who will Coachman choose?
In Oklahoma City, D-Generation X will face three teams of Executive Assistant Jonathan Coachman's choice in a Gauntlet Match. DX must face all three teams in a row, and with all the Superstars at the Executive Assistant's disposal, who will Coachman choose to battle Triple H and Shawn Michaels?

Who will succeed Trish?
Trish Stratus won the Women’s Championship at Unforgiven, but her retirement forced the championship to be vacated. Every Diva wants to become champion;  eight of them will have their chance, as RAW will see the beginning of an 8-Diva tournament to determine a new Women's Champion. Who will be the one to succeed Trish?

Can Nitro withstand the Big Red Monster?
Also in Oklahoma City, Johnny Nitro will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Kane. Weeks ago, Kane's first chance at Nitro's gold was interrupted by Umaga, who came to the ring to attack the Big Red Monster. An opportunistic Nitro was able to retain his gold in a Six-Pack Challenge last week; can he do it two weeks in a row, or will Oklahoma City see a Big Red Champion crowned?

To find out the answers to these questions and more, tune into RAW Monday night at 9/8 CT on the USA Network.

This preview here is just good enough to make me excited to watch RAW. Three team gaunlet match for D-X eh?! This should be something. It's probably going to be Cade/Murdoch, Spirit Squad, and probably Viscera/Haas. I dunno if The Highlanders will be apart of that as they are also another team. I'm also excited to see this Women's Title Tournament to get started. I see Mickie James winning this whole thing.

Yeah RAW looks good, still aside from their heavyweights. SD! pwns them on that front but nevertheless, I think it's gonna be good to watch. The IC match looks original (saying that there are like 8 or so guys in that sector of the roster (which is a good thing.))

Too bad I'm only hear for the punch and pie. :(

It could be possible that one of them is the Hardy Boyz, Jeff seems not to be involed in anything right now

poor kane, umaga will ruin his chance for the IC title again

Lets see who DX will face: Cade and Murdoch, Spirit Squad, and Haas and Viscera.

In comparison to that preview, yeah, it was the only option.

I am so freakin' sick of DX, its ridiculous.  The only thing they've done since reuniting is remind me of how good they were.

I'll probably watch at least some of it, in spite of the preview, because Raw is a slightly more appealing alternative to studying.  Hopefully, they keep up the recent trend of improving the wrestling quotient and quantity.  Hopefully, they drop the trend of publically humiliating JR.  I don't understand why McMahon gets such a kick out of it.  Is he that jealous of the fact JR is a ridiculously better play by play guy or what.

Though, Falcons-Saints will probably hold the bulk of my attention, especially with my trend of changing the channel everytime a McMahon is mentioned.

I exact that point though. I mean, if dragging it on is not enough, they had to bring the least liked face pro-wrestling into the mix. Hopefully we'll see an indication of the options of CyberSunday at any rate.

Yeah DX is annoying the hell out of me now. Alright it was nice to see them back for the first few weeks but this feud between DX and the McMahons sucks. DX plays unfunny jokes with roosters to the McMahons, McMahons create a plan to end DX for good, DX overcomes the odds, and then it runs through that cycle again and again. It's beyond annoying.

Shelton and Haas destroy DX at end of gauntlet?Kotenks

I don't know about that one. After seeing Shelton's turn to what he had to say to McMahon last week, I assume that he's going off to  different direction.

I reckon the gauntlet will see the Spirit Squad, Murdoch and Cade, and possibly Haas and Viscera.

As for the Diva tourney for the Womens Title, well, it's exciting to see the title be exposed to more than just a one-on-one feud as it has done so over the past few years. The title has been running for decades and it's about time its significance was exposed, so be the truth.

Oh and the IC division is running hot right now. I thought I would never say that come back a year ago. What a turnaround for the division and title. I don't know who is to be praised on this one, WWE Creative or Nitro? Nitro being that he's had the best run as champ in years and the title is a stepping stone to possibly making him a huge star in the future.

If there is 8 Divas competing in this tournament, that would mean Beth Phoenix would make her return to compete in this tournament. We have: Lita, Mickie James, Melina, Maria, Torrie Wilson, Candice Michelle, Victoria, and Beth Phoenix. Unless somehow, they might transfer Jillian Hall from Smackdown! to RAW to compete in this thing, since I want Jillian to compete for the Women's Championship, and take one of the Divas off the match.

They should take Maria to SD, and transfer Jillian to RAW. So, the tournament would be awesome having great diva talent.

I agree with that. Maria doesn't do much, so she should get transfer. Jillian deserve to showcase her talent with the other Divas on RAW who can wrestle.

Maria should be allowed to be on both shows. Can have a total boring RAW, then they show her with that goofy smile or that empty headed thinking pose, and it makes the show worth watching and funny.

Very unlikely thought: Could Bischoff be the start of that crappy nWo vs DX thing, since he was a driving force behind the original nWo. Like I said, unlikely, but worth mentioning.

He could also be there to promote his book. I saw WWE magazine, and they had an ad of Eric Bischoff book. It could be that, or he could seriously return as GM of RAW.

Think of it this way DX messes with Bischoff and NWO comes back...................Huh.....huh and then DX Vs. NWO at the Survivor Series.

Women's title Tournament should be good tonight I think because Mickie James is a Face, and Beth Phoenix will be a Heel, or maybe they will be both faces?

Well lets look at who we have we need fouyr Faces and Heels.

Mickie James (Face), Lita (Heel), Torrie Wilson (Face), Melina (Heel), Candice (Face), Victoria (Heel), Maria (Face), and tha leaves Beth Phoenix as the final (Heel).

Reminds me of ROH. Just the music, some lighting, and the announcers. I thought it was pretty funny that they aren't working.

EDIT: Oh, of course its fixed in time for a Cena promo.

Cena with one hand tied behind his back vs Lita in no holds barr, and no edge allowed to touch cena. means that Edge will get some goons to help him out. But Coach did say Edge cant touch Cena.... does that mean a chair cant touch Cena(thats held by Edge)?

Gauntlet, like how they had the highlanders in there, was a surprise and funny how it ended. Vis and Haas was an ok match, haas got squashed by his own partner was nice. Cade and Murdoch was the down of the gauntlet.

So, is John Cena, like, as popular in the Raw locker room as he is in Canada or something?  He spends what felt like 4 hours getting beat down by three Smackdown guys and no one came down to help him.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the only part of Raw that I wouldn't have willingly missed was Hardy-Benjamin and by the looks of things there wasn't much to miss there either.  Carlito and Crazy vs Masters and Orton was fine.  At least Orton really works that damn chinlock.

Edge-Cena #782: this time in a cage.  Can't wait for that one .  WWE hates you Edge.

I also saw a commercial for the Raw "season premier" as a "Family Reunion" with several cross brand stars advertised.  I can only pray that this won't include the reunion of a specific family on TV.

Positives:

+ McMahon's are not on the show (Thank-God)

+ Faulty electricity at begging of the show made for more of unique vibe

+ Jim Ross was not humiliated in his home town. By the way, seeing how most of the IWC, including myself, complain when the opposite occurs, I thought it was only fair to mention this fact of the otherwise and give bonus points to Vince McMahon for having some respect for Jim Ross on this rare instance

+ Regardless of the fact I rather not see "safe" move of having Eric Bishoff make his return to Raw, if equals into destruction of the "McMahon-Family happy hour," I am in full-support of it

Mixed:

+ King Booker and company 'mugging' of John Cena. To be simple, here are the basic points: Smackdown > Raw, free advertisement for Smackdown, JR's announcing during the segment and last, but most certainly not least, King Booker gracing us with his presence on Raw :P

- On the other hand, while there were good points to John Cena being 'beat-down' by the King's Court, there were some bad ones as well. For example, honestly, is John Cena "Superman" or what? Seriously, how many shots to the head does take before you will stay down? Ridiculous...

+ Regardless of the fact that management has milked Edge-Cena feud to death, I think the announcement of steel cage match happening next week has good amount of potential, if (by the way, that is big "if") given the correct amount of time

Edit 2: - However, this is WWE I am talking about and more often than not, especially on the likes of Raw, match is rarelly give decent amount of time. Besides, there is good chance that the match will probably have some kind of stupid finish

Negatives:

- John Cena latest promo, for the most part, is another example on why his mic-skills, or lack thereof, is one of the main reasons, versus the "popular" theory of his question workrate, on why he is flopping as face

- Electricity being fixed :P

- IC title once again is reduced to nothing more than means of having angle that does not involved the belt any shape or form (to be simple, something that is forgotten in the mist of everything else)

- Highlanders, say hello to wonderful world that is "Jobber-Land."

- DX gauntlet was a) boring, b) pointless and c) did zero favors for already heavily damaged TTD of RAW

- Eric Bishoff's mention of the "NWO" supports my fear (or rather, nightmare) that we could possibly be seeing DX vs. NWO feud sometime in near future

- Okay, when will Cryme Tyme make their debut on Raw? Seriously, if my feeling are anywhere near feeling of the general audience, than I have imagine that they growing tiresome of seeing basically same video for 4-weeks-straight. In the words of the Hurricane, "what's up with that?"

- Shelton Benjamin's new gimmick is self-explanatory: stupid

- Wrestling tonight was under-whelming, to say the least

Over all, I have to say this probably one of the worst editions of Raw I have seen in while (however, I guess that is not really saying much when you take look into previous editions). Honestly, what happen? Raw looked to be improving in the previous few weeks and than in regards to this week, that are back into "lazy mode" once again.

Edit: Hopefully, this was more of an "off" week for management and Raw will get back on track on next-week's edition of Raw.

RAW was good this week. I thought Shelton Benjamin vs. Jeff Hardy match could've been better, but it was okay. I dunno where they are going with this Benjamin is being black and discriminated, but does it lean toward him being push or what? Everything else on RAW is good, and that's all I got to say.

From what he has shown in the WWE, I think he needs to develop his mic-skills and work-rate at more effective level before he is ready for something "big," such as main-event level.

To be simple, the problem with his mic is that he needs to expand and bring some more substance to his character. In regards to his work-rate, the problem is that more often that not, moves in his matches feel random and therefore, do not really flow together. (By the way, I am saying this as fan of Carlito's)

[QUOTE="Mu5uk0"]Jeff Hardy v Shelton could have been so much more. Carlito is SO over, why not do something big with him?Link256

Yeah I see what you mean; he keeps doing that backflip thing off the ropes and always lands awkwardly which kind of throws away the whole "whoa where did he go?!" thing. Although his match with Randy at Unforgiven was awesome, he showed off some new moves (like the flip senton to lionsault combo) and worked a decent length. If he has a few matches like that it'll show that he is main event material... and I'm surprised he isn't on the mic anymore, when he was on Smackdown it seemed all he did was talk. Meh, we'll see.

Raw definitely needs to see the return of the Cabana.
