So I tune into Raw just in time to see Ricardo hit show with a ferrari spurning Kane to scream like a distraught housewife.
Aaaand it comes back from commercial to have Kane holding Show's hand while he gets checked on by emts.
Is this what I've been missing for the last few months?
Apparently, the whole Cole business is over with a quick apology, and now we'll see face Cole again.
Riley getting a good chant from the crowd, hopefully he can ride this thing with Miz to something big.

I doubt WWE will follow up properly, and it was not really a positive for The Miz (apart from WWE finally doing the right thing by splitting them up), but that segment was easily the best thing they have ever done with Riley. I was stunned by the "Riley" chants.
Ziggles is blonde again!LEGOslayerStep back in the right direction. That generic look was doing NOTHING for him.
This Raw has been a big WTF?
First the tag titles change, then Ricardo tries to kill show, then Kane cries, then Cole returns to normal then Kharma cries, then Ziggles is blonde, now CM Punk is in a main event match.Â
[QUOTE="LEGOslayer"]Ricardo tries to kill showBlue_ShieldMust have missed that one. What happened?Kane/Show are being interviewed post loss, Del Rio walks up, slaps Show and runs, they give chase and turn a corner, camera goes all fuzzy, then Show is under a Ferrari and Ricardo and Del Rio run off while Kane screams.
Good example of why I hate the super serial tone. They use it for that car wreck crap, and then they proceed to use pretty much the same tone for a real life tragedy. So stupid.
Anyhow, speaking of Macho, great tribute.
Wasn't Randy the one that was on bad terms with the WWE? Or is that still Hogan?SonicRenegade84I don't think either are anymore. By that I mean Savage wasn't on bad terms when he passed.
Great tribute and all, but I cannot but help think if it were someone else, someone else that was the megastar of Macho Man Randy Savage really was, someone the WWE did not have a issue with, they would have made the entire show a giant tribute, and IMHO, that is what they should have done.
This is the worst raw I've seen in forevers. It sucked more than a blackhole powered vaccuum.
It sucked more than Spider-Man 3.
It sucked more than Little Wayne.Â
It sucked so bad it turned itself inside out and vanished out of exstince......well it did when I turned it off.
Â
EDIT: Now I read here they showed a Tribute to The Macho Man.....the only reason I even turned this piece of crap on the first place, and they put it after constant barage of utter garbage that would drive any normal thinking person to change the channel. If I wanted to watch a awful Wrestling Show I'd watch TNA, If I wanted to watch bunch wrestlers I don't care about I'd watch ROH, and if I wanted to insult myself by wasting my time on something so silly I'd go to church.Â

Does it suck worse than R-Truth's theme?Â

Pffft what you smoking, joker? His theme is also as awesome as Kozlov's debut theme. That and they released a DVD set about him a couple of years ago, and if he was able to forgive Hogan and Bret, he's probably forgiven Randy for anything he could have done short of actually screwing Steph. LEGOslayerThe All-Stars deal happened because of THQ, not WWE.
As for the DVD, money says hello.

Ok, so what makes you think Vince hasn't forgiven him? The lack of a hall of fame? They may have been saving him to be the marquee on a slow year. Not showing up at a WWE event? Savage was basically a recluse in his last years. He probably didn't want to show up anywhere live at least. The fact Vince was reportedly upset about the THQ deal.
The fact that just about everyone, including credible sources, agree there was something between Savage and WWE, and we never heard anything that had even suggest that had otherwise changed.
The fact this show was not a giant tribute show.
Again, what makes you think Vince has?

What are you talking about? That has already been happening. As it is, WWE is already been running empty on big names.Neither of us know whether or not any of this is true, I just speculated that any bad blood they may have had probably had been lessened by time. If Vince was so angry at Savage that he'd never have anything to do with him, I would assume Vince would rather tarnish his legacy as opposed to selling a DVD celebrating it, I doubt the income it brought in would be enough to override such a speculated disdain. As for a tribute Show, only Pillman, Owen, Eddie, and Benoit have gotten one, and they were all active and on the roster when they died. The fact Vince was reportedly upset about the THQ deal.

It's all speculation, but I doubt that if there was a fued between Savage and Vince, it had probably subsided for the most part.Â

Blue_ShieldThey did more than the simple graphic at the beginning of the show, which is all I can ask for really. It was a good package.
As stated, the big tribute shows have been reserved for guys who died on the active roster.
Would I have liked more? Of course. Even in that package, it still seems like WWE is underselling Savage. Just like I would have liked more from the Savage DVD than just Striker and Maria. I would have liked to hear from the superstars Savage has influenced and the scope of his influence touched upon. I mean, WWE has done just about as little as possible to promote Savage and yet his death has picked up significant mainstream coverage, more than I can recall WWE getting with many of the stunts they've pulled for that very purpose. It is a testament to his influence, especially considering how little WWE celebrates him. I mean you consider that Steve Austin is the Hulk Hogan of the Attitude Era then Macho Man was the Rock of Hogan's Era.
I wonder if there hadn't been as much mainstream coverage if Savage would have been reduced to the graphic at the beginning of the show?
Anywho, show seemed... okay at best. Riley beating up Miz made for some fun. I consider the Riley chant more a testament to the Miz than anything. It was a poor man's Virgil-Dibiase, but for today's WWE, you've got to take what you can get. However, Virgil comparisons aren't what Riley needs.
Punk's tribute to Savage was cool. Tag match was fun and crowd pleasing. Rey just doesn't fit on Raw, IMO.
Overall, though, WWE's sinking pretty fast. They are really lacking compelling characters and compelling writing right now... I mean even moreso than usual. I mean R-Truth is in a main event storyline for the time being. That's a pretty huge stretch, IMO.
As stated, the big tribute shows have been reserved for guys who died on the active roster.The_Dude14True, but we've also not had someone die this big since, what, Andre?
I do not know. Maybe I am nitpicking here, but I just tend think if it had been someone else, they would have received a tribute show.
Regardless, I do not buy that bad blood had been cleared between Savage and WWE. I just think that is what people want to think, because it makes for a feel-good story.
All I ask for is that he got something similar to The Rock's Birthday Raw, with superstars coming on here and there giving their thoughts on Savage, and classic clips of him throughout the show. Maybe have someone do an elbow drop to win the main event.
I mean, if it can be done for someone's birthday, which happens once a year, can't it be done for someone's death?

Why would they? Not to offend Randy Savage (RIP), but the guy wasn't employed or even apart of the company at the time, why are they obliged to do anything? The only wrestlers that have gotten full tribute shows were actively employed at the time with the WWE. However, other wrestlers that have passed away simply got a graphic. At least Savage got a graphic on this, the PPV, and a good tribute video. That's more than I ever expected and I'm entirely happy. Plus, we also got some Punk imitating savage, so all is well.
And second of all: How would a whole two hour show just for Savage work? A bunch of guys coming out and saying "yea yea, he was an idol"? Like I said above, the only reason this worked for Eddie, Benoit, and Owen were because they were employed at the time.
I'm not trying to be mean, and may Savage rest in peace, but I think we got plenty. A cool tribute (which I plan on rewatching on my DVR) and recognition.
