*Tough Enough 3 winner Matt Cappotelli & Million Dollar Tough Enough finalist Mike Mizanin defeated The Highlanders.

Velocity:

*Frankie Kazarian pinned Funaki.

*WWE Cruiserweight champion Paul London defeated Nunzio.

*MNM defeated Scotty Sabre & Steve Lee.

*Hardcore Holly defeated Simon Dean.

Smackdown:

*Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long came out to announce the main event for Summerslam when JBL came to the ring and said that his contract stipulates he gets a rematch with Batista and that makes him the number one contender, not the Undertaker. Long announces JBL vs. Undertaker for later tonight with the winner being the number one contender to Batista's WWE World championship.

*Chris Benoit & Booker T defeated WWE United States champion Orlando Jordan & Christian when Benoit forced Jordan to tap out to the Crippler Crossface. Christian had the chance to save Jordan but instead walked out.

*Backstage Road Warrior Animal told Heidenreich it was time for the "next step" and began shaving his hair into a mohawk.

*WWE World Tag Team champions Road Warrior Animal & Heidenreich defeated Chris Hamrick & Chuck Tealy (name here may be wrong).

*Backstage, MNM announced they had hired a publicist (it was WWE developmental diva Jillian Hall). The publicist announced Melina vs. Torrie Wilson for later tonight.

*Rey Mysterio came out with his son Dominic. Eddie Guerrero came out and said that even though he promised not to reveal the secret, he lied. He reveals that he, not Rey is Dominic's father. Dominic hops the railing and runs away through the crowd, with Rey chasing him. Eddie says that back when he and his wife were separated, he "got a sl** pregnant" with Dominic, and he "out of the goodness of his heart" allowed Rey and his wife to adopt him because they couldn't have children. They played it off like more would be revealed next week

Smackdown Hour Two:

*Melina (with Jilliam Hall) pinned Torrie Wilson (with Candice Michelle) with her feet on the ropes.

*Backstage, The Mexicools are mistaken to be concession workers.

*William Regal vs. Scotty Too Hotty never took place as The Mexicools came out carrying concession items and attacked them both. Psicosis shoved the referee as well.

*JBL pinned The Undertaker to become the number one contender to the WWE World championship after Randy Orton hit Taker with an RKO.

Dark Match:

*WWE World champion Batista pinned JBL with a Batista Bomb.

I don't think anyone's gonna be happy about these results.

as much as i hate simon dean (but love nova), why are they making him job to bob holly. god i hate the wwe.

edit: good for christian walking out, eddie and rey storyline is just stupid (who cares), and wow, jbl is number one contender (that makes me want to by summerslam even more! :roll:)

Good to hear that Chris Benoit was on SmackDown again, hopefully this means he will stop being on Velocity so much. It is kinda of lame they had Christian lost again, but at least he did not get pinned.

Heidenreich and Animal face two jobbers again, yet another sign that the Tag-Team Division is Dead on SmackDown. I wonder how long Animal will stick around, I guess I am going to have to wait and see.

IMHO, that Rey and Eddie promo sounds great. I lied, that is great line. I cannot wait to see that on television!

Another Diva match with women that cannot wrestle, sounds like have an extra bathroom/kitchen break.

Great, JBL vs. Batista yet again at SummerSlam, I guess Vince clearly did not learn his lesson. Glad to hear Randy Orton returned though, he is one my current favorite superstars in the WWE.

Overall, it sounds like a good and solid SmackDown. The worst part is that obviously JBL won his match and will be facing JBL, but the show sounds really good overall.

IMHO, SmackDown has gotten much better overall since the draft/trade.

I think it will be more like this at SummerSlam:

JBL vs. Batista in DQ match or somekind of match with no rules

Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker is some kind of special match

Either way it goes, I can safely say WWE will not have Orton vs. JBL vs. Undertaker vs. Batista at SummerSlam 2005.

That would be awesome match and I would be happy to be wrong, but I doubt that will happen.

Smackdown sounds pretty bad. The only good thing coming from this is that since Christian left OJ, maybe they can squeeze him into a Triple Threat with Benoit and OK for the US title. Since they seem so adamant for OJ to not lose, they can have Christian pin Benoit and give us a US title feud we'd WANT to see.

Eddie/Rey is getting up there in the ridiculous level. I don't know what's worse, the RAW Dive search, and watching this storyline unfold like a bad soap opera.

The way the Bash finished, you knew JBL would get another chance at the belt. The way JBL was built, it's like he has to be in every title match regardless. Even when HHH was all over the WHC, he didn't seem as bad as JBL is right now. This is, what, the 8th or 10th straight PPV he's had a title match (as champion or challenger). Weren't the WWE hyping Eddie vs Batista for some house shows? I hope this is the direction after SummerSlam.

Okay I am not even going to comment on the Eddie/Rey/Dominic situation because it is ridicuolous.

As for JBL being the #1 contender once again well expect Summerslam's SD! matches to flop like hell...

Man i was so looking forward to undertaker vs batista. they could have had such a great match! and if they had made him champion could you imagine the ratings??? i truly believe that smackdown is gonna die like wcw's thunder program on thursday nights did. raw is the good show while smackdown is frikin mediocre. the slight presence of batista cant even make me watch smackdown anymore. god jbl is gonna turn into a triple h which will pull down ratings.

smackdown is going to die, period.

I think they are trying to take down Smackdown brick by brick. I mean censoring Melina's entrance more or less takes away her purpose for existing.

Well, I won't bet that much (WWE ius crazy they can pull out anything), but , yeah, I don't see it happening neither. You see, it was never planned to have Taker vs Batista Summerslam. Taker was supposed to loose to Hassan at GAB (Orton would have interfered, of course) and then probably Hassan would've been screwed out of the title shot, giving him additional materail to whine about. As for JBL vs Batista: The Sequele....... Brock, I'd like you to return any time soon, thank you.
