WWEv GFX - Showcase and Requests

It's about time for a new GFX thread. Hopefully this'll be bumped more often than not. The rules to follow in this thread are listed from GamingRing.....

Here's what you're supposed to do when you're asked to "Please Rate".....

Post why you like/dislike it. - When someone wants something rated, they usually look for ways to improve. The way you can help is by suggesting.

Don't just post a number rating. - If you go into a thread and just give someone a rating like any number/10...Don't. A number rating WILL NOT help an artist improve. The other reason you don't do this is, if you have NO IDEA about GFX and you rate something an 8/10 when it is actually a 2...then you're telling the person that what they did is good when it is actually crap and they won't think anything of it.

Don't say something is good for stupid reasons - Just because you like/dislike the subject, ex. "OMG!! BATISTA IOS TEH COOLEST!! 10/10!!"

If you don't have anything good to say or don't know what you're talking about...DON'T POST! Self-explanatory.

So follow all these steps about posting...cuz if not...well you're SPAMMING and wasting time.

For the artists who asked to be rated...Too many times people have posted something and received negative reviews (that's not the point), then some artist takes it the wrong way and blasts, flames, and complains. If you can't take criticism, then I'll tell you now, you are in the wrong place. Take what you're given and don't complain about it. Not everything you're going to make will be awesome. Get over it.Nickelo

Follow these rules and you should be m'kay. Remember, you can submit any of your own creations. It doesn't have to be only wrestling-related.

Also, for those who're interested in makin' a new WWEv Union banner, you can start it off with this PSD I uploaded. It contains those tabs (that overlay the banner) as a separate layer so you'll know exactly where to design your banner.

Nyah're the guidelines for makin' a new WWEv Union banner.....

• 760 x 140 pixels
• Incorporates wrestling of new and old, including certain wrestling video games
• Must be well-balanced and attractive to the masses (of wrestling and wrestling video game fans)
• Of course, include the union's name, World Wrestling Everything

For those who want to request a new signature or any other kind of image.....

• Be precisely specific on what you want in your graphic. Make sure you provide the size dimensions, the color scheme, pictures, text, etc.. (Unless you want the graphic maker to do a "frees_tyle" graphic.)
• After you've received your requested graphic, DO NOT immediately request another. Be happy with what you got. The length of time needed to request a new graphic is about a month.

I just wanted to make 1 suggestion, I think we should keep it more broad if we're gonna have a Gfx creation thread. Graphics, of all things, shouldn't be limited in any way. So I say use your imagination, and if it has nothing to do with wrestling, well, show it off anyway, we don't mind.

Also for anyone who puts up a picture, you HAVE to rate/comment on a piece of work already posted before you before you can post your own. Preferably the last one posted.

JC I don't know if this is an earlier creation for you or if you have more experience so I'm not going light on you lol.

Basically your picture lacks substance. For someone looking at it,they'd think "what am I looking at?" A bunch of pics of some wrestlers thrown together? I understand that the theme is there, and that's good, but it needs something extra that draws attention to it. Just remember, when someone looks at your picture, for however long it may be, you want them to go in for a second look later. You want something to get people to be interested in it.

The background needs work. A black background is not inviting so pasting a few pics together and leaving the bg unnoticed does not equal a good look. In graphics creation you need a good amount of blending in your work. You want the foreground to somehow mix into the background and there's lots of different ways to do that. It's up to you as the artist to figure that out and keep trying out new things and playing around with settings to get a look you think looks good. Also watch the edges on some of the people, the cuts look a bit rough.

All in all, keep trying because no artist was ever that good on his/her first try. I don't really consider myself that good but even if you consider me somewhat good I was at the beginning of the game pretty bad at it lol. I've been doing this kinda stuff for 5 years though so I've been improving over time. Also I think you should try Photoshop instead of Paint. If you're that used to Paint then try Paint Shop Pro or something like that, but I really recommend Photoshop.

I won't give this a number rating since I don't think those help all that much. Just take my advice for what you will and keep trying.

The golden rule of Photoshop is practice, practice, practice. A trial version will not help you out if you want to become good at it.You have to acquire it somehow if you're serious about this.
