It's a little late in the week for a Versus, but I'm gonna make one anyway. The winner of Volume 18 was Chris Beniot vs The Great Sasuke at the 1994 Super J Cup. It beat Kenta Kobashi vs Samoa Joe 3-2. Thanks for voting and no thanks for not commenting you so called wrestling fans. For this weeks poll, I'm gonna put some life back into the Versus poll with two matches that are sure to knock your socks off. I've included links to youtube for those wanting a refresher on these two classic matches from the year 2001. Without any further delay, here are the matches: Kurt Angle vs Shane McMahon Street Fight King of the Ring 2001 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4a-bKuchePo Stone Cold Steve Austin vs Triple H Three Stages of Hell No Way Out 2001 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgn5alk9XH0
This Versus Poll is completely unfair. Why would you insert two of my favorite matches of all time and ask me to decide between the two?Â
I'll have to think about it before I give my final verdict, but personally I would have compared the Shawn Michaels and Triple H 'Three Stages Of Hell' encounter with the Stone Cold/Triple H one. Â
Still, I'm interested to see what the results are.
I've come to my decision. Although I may prefer Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle, I do believe Triple H vs Stone Cold is/was the better match. It's an encounter I would consider ***** stars worthy. While Shane McMahon vs Kurt Angle deserves somewhere between **** - **** 1/2 stars, in my opinion.Â
So yea... I prefer Shane vs Angle (There is just something I love about it), but in terms of significance, story, and overall quality; Triple H vs Stone Cold is/was the overall better encounter (IMO).
There is just something about watching Shane getting his ass kicked that's so entertainng. He doesnt look like he can do those bumps, but he does them anyway. Good match for both guys. It gets my vote.
