Welcome Ladies and Gentlemen, to the second ever WWEv's "Greatest Wrestler of All Time" Competition.

It has been over two years since we first held our "Greatest Wrestler of All Time" competition and opinions change over the year and new faces have cropped up since then. Many amazing matches have happened since then and many wrestlers have passed away. There are so many loved superstars in the history of this business and so many fan favorites over the years...

BUT WHO CARES WHAT EVERYONE ELSE THINKS!

This competition is YOUR chance to decide who WWEv's second ever "Greatest Wrestler" is.

For this year's competition, there will be 32 wrestlers that YOU will nominate. There will be 16 first round matches, 8 second round matches, 4 third round matches, 2 semi-finals, and one final showdown.

Instead of having a thread for each match at a time, we will be streamlining the process by having two matches going on at once in each thread. More will be explained later in this post about the voting process.

Also, our first "Greatest Wrestler of All Time" winner Stone Cold Steve Austin will sadly not be participating this year since he decided to take his ball and go home...actually, in fairness to the rest of the nominees, he will have an automatic "bye" into the final match against the winner of this year's "Greatest Wrestler of All Time" competition.

brack

Match 15:

Rob Van Dam vs. Scott Hall

Match 16:

Roddy Piper vs. Christian

Only the poll votes will count towards the winner. Whoever has the most votes by 12:01 a.m. cst will be the winner.

This shockingly one-sided, IMO.

Have we forgotten the nWo?

Have we let WWE brainwash us into thinking that HBK was wrestling a broom stick in those Ladder matches?

Have we forgotten about "Hey Yo," which could get as big a pop as any catchphrase during the Attitude Era?

Have we forgotten the necessary yang to Hulk Hogan's yin?

Now don't get me wrong, I love Christian. However, Christian is Chris Jericho a few years ago. He's great, he has the talent and has earned the right to be in the main event mix, but he's just not there. WWE has yet to allow him to tap into what TNA allowed him to be, which in TNA's case was the beacon of light in the murk. He was the one guy in TNA that seemed to be able to make it work for him. He showed in TNA what he could be if "given the ball" and even as everything else in TNA went to ****, he remained a (the) reason to watch.

And while he is undoubtably a better wrestler than Piper, IMO. However, I ask them, who main evented, possibly, the most significant show in wrestling history?

Before Andre, before Dibiase, before Savage, before any number of huge guys, when Hulkamania was just getting started, who was the guy that fueled the fire? That would be Roddy Piper.

I vote Hot Rod. Love those bagpipes.

RVD vs Scott Hall... the Straight Edge nightmare. What happened to all the criticism of RVD's mic skills?. I thought RVD was just a spot monkey who couldn't work. He wasn't safe. He was nothing without Heyman. What happened when RVD finally got the ball?

Scott Hall was the original invader. As Razor Ramon in WWF, he was one of the most popular stars, probably could(should?) have been WWF Champion. He was often the most popular nWo member he...

Oh, he just no showed again.

And RVD made a burnt out Jeff Hardy look like a main event talent.

Hardest decisaion so far.  I went ahead and voted Piper/RVD though.  RVD I feel is the better performer, but you have to give Hall credit.  The reason I took Piper over Cage is because I flipped a coin.  Both are some of my all time favs, so I really couldn't choose between them... plus have you seen They Live?!

Not IMHO.

With Scott Hall, I think you already realized that one yourself.

With Christian vs. Roddy Piper, were you not the one who emphasised the "wrestling" accept?

For the record, I was very tempted to go with Roddy Piper. Simply put, the man is one of the best ever, when comes to passion on the mic, and charisma. Hell, in that regard, the man is still awesome, still surpasses most everyone today, and his promo with Chris Jericho few months back, so far, is my favorite promo of the year. Before everyone and their mom had a interview show, there was Piper's Pit. If Hulk Hogan was the number 1 guy in WWE Rock N' Wrestling Era, I would say Roddy Piper and Macho Man were fighting for number 2. Do I need to go on?

However, you have to realize am I the same guy who wanted Triple H and Ric Flair out of this competition round 1, and same guy who would have voted for Santino over Triple H. In another words, I am voting based on my own personal bias, and not merits of who should or should not receive the vote. Otherwise, in that case, Hulk Hogan should get the vote every time, and there would be no need to ever bother with this competition.
