Not to be morbid, but that was over 20 years ago. I mean, they're in a high impact-constantly moving sport, what do they expect? A long comfortable life?

It's not like they're singling out wrestling, there's been a huge ****storm about football's safety (or lack thereof) for a while now. No matter what way you want to spin it a bunch of guys dying in their 40s is not a good thing. Randy Savage was the oldest of the WM7 performers to die by 11 years.

Besides, the answer to both of your questions are right there in the article.
"As wrestlinginc.com points out, none of the 44 starters from the Super Bowl played in 1991 have passed away and only two of 44 boxers who held a championship belt that year are gone."

I know, that was in response to soul.

But you guys don't realize, both boxing and Pro football are radically different. Yes, they're full contact sports and such... but they're also very spread out. No boxer has more than what? 2-3 matches a year. Football only goes on for a few months and then is shelved for most of the year. Professional wrestlers, however (especially in the 80s) were involved in 100s of matches in a year, constantly moving from place to place (and organization to organization). It's not really fair to compare the two.

Even then, people shouldn't be dying in their 40s and 50s for medical reasons, especially not this many.

LEGOslayer

This is a really sad, and Soul and LEGOslayer both make good points, I just wonder what's the real reason for them all.

Because Savage died from a Heart-Attack and a Car Crash, then he wouldn't be dead right now, but since that did happened then we have this story to talk about.

But yes I must agree that Football players and Boxers don't have it as rough but they really do, but then the same can be said about pro Wrestlers. too.
