Which one do you guys prefer? The Assault Rifle was the standard gun on Halo:Combat Evolved and the Battle Rifle is the standard gun on Halo 2. I personally prefer the Assault Rifle.
I rather the BR because its more accurate and powerful in my opinion. The AR is less accurate as it fires everywhere. When i used in i fired in small more accurate birsts
The battle rifle would've gotten my vote if you could fire it in single shots. The bursts annoyed the hell out of me because they sucked the ammo like nothin' else. Assault rifle was also way better than the SMG.

I had always liked the Assault rifle for its sheer power and magazine capacity, but the battle rifle holds its own when it comes to accuracy and handling, although I would have liked if it had been able to be full-auto fire, so the "Battle Rifle" since I've played Halo 2 so much, but its going to be bad ass when 3 comes out, that Assault rifle is going to own in multiplayer.
BR is more accurate for me when I fire it, the AR took long to kill enemies and the bullets spread a little when you go to far. I personally like long range weapons then medium range weapon.
This is a bad comparison. Any Halo veteran would tell you that the battle rifle is a substitute for Halo CE's magnum pistol, with the scope. Assault rifle is more like the SMG in Halo 2. But if i have to compare these, i'd choose the Battle rifle, cuz the assault rifle just simply had no power, and lacked accuracy, a few good shots with a pistol is better than spraying around with the assault rifle.

Hey bro, they are going to have both the battle rifle and Assault rifle return for Halo3. Now that is going to be awesome, I just hope they tweaked the Assault rifle a little in accuracy department just to make it a little more effiecient, then itll be a killing machine out on the battle field, I wonder what kind of impact it'll have in Multiplayer/Online?

Way agreed on this one, the Halo 1 pistol was way better than 2's cuz it was more powerful and accurate with the scope attachment, in 2 they made it all wimpy even when dual wielded, I wish they brought back the OG pistol in Halo 3.

Thats what I'm saying, but I think that the assualt rifle is more relieable (not as effiecient) because of the large magazine capacity, with low accuaracy.
I'm more used to Halo 2 and thus far more effective with the Battle Rifle. It's much more versatile in my opinion. I see the SMG's in Halo 2 as the Assault Rifle more or less, although not nearly as effective. What I like about the Battle Rifle is its range and scope.

i like both but if i had to choose i would agree with you and go for the assualt rifle
i never used the assult ritfle, if you knew how to use a pistol you'd own anyone who came at you with an assult ritfle.
br is much better for more experienced players who can pull off headshots in almost any situation. i'm all about the plasma pistol then one shot with the br to kill opponants.
The Assault Rifle was only good against the flood. Unless of course you played on easy/normal.Zalzargahoughan
yeah, thats true, it was'nt very effective against other characters or even players, I just hope they make the assault rifle better to use in Multiplayer in Halo 3, because it could really be a killing machine if the improved it right.
