Cold Fear is an OK game and will only cost you about ten bucks. It can be creepy, but the gameplay is kind of wierd. Picture Re4, but really, really fast and somewhat more difficult.
I heard some bad things about Cold Fear, but I don't recall the specifics. I have Ghost Recon Island Thunder, and it's an okay game, though I haven't made it very far yet. For some reason I keep dying... Anyway, GRIT and GRSS are probably similar.
Either way, it doesn't sound like either one will result in a waste of money.
I have both and they are very different from each other. I happen to like Cold Fear just a bit more though. It could be because I have the entire GR series. :?

I played the first GR and didn't like it much. I think it was mission number 5 where I kept dying and dying for no particular reason. But I looked at GRSS and thought if I could like it but it doesn't seem I would.
