I just got a 360 and I know I am definitly getting Halo 3 but I was wondering if it's even worth it to get Halo 2 for $30 with 3 only a month and half away?
Not $30. If you can get it discounted (I bought mine from my friend for like $15) then by all means get it, but waiting for Halo 3 is probably the better decesion.
You should be able to find it for a bit cheaper than that. Looking at Gamestop's site, you can pick up a used copy of the triple pack, which includes Halo 1 and 2, and the map pack that came out after 2 for only $13.

if you can pick up Halo 2 cheap, $10.0 0t o$15.00, it would be ok.
I found Hal o2 t obe somewhat boring. Nowhere as good as Halo 1.
I REALLY hope that Halo 3 is not a disappointment like 2 was. In fact, I won't buy Halo 3 for months after it comes out. That's how much a bummer Halo 2 is.

agreed, heck, halo 2 is one of the worst games i've ever played...the online might be good but i dnt even consider that as i was never gonna pay to take my xbox online when i could get free online on my ps2 if i ever really wanted to play online (which i never did with my consoles...although i may start using online in the 7th gen), unless you can get it for $15 or less i really wouldn't bother with it...if you dnt have online then you'll probably get bored of it pretty darn quickly...
Check out GameStop/EB Games for really good prices on preowned Xbox games. If you haven't played Halo 2, I would recommend it at a lower price, just to see the entire story arc. However, if you've already played it, don't get it unless you either want the collection or enjoyed it.
"Halo 2" at the brickn'mortar store for EB is gonna run ya $26 used... trust me, I've been watching the price an it ain't comin' down. Store clerk says it pro'ly will after H3 comes out, but that it retains it's value because of the multiplayer. Ihaven't played it yet but that's because I refuse to pay over $15 for an Xbox game.

Well said, Halo 2 is NO WHERE near the best game of all time. If you judge the game fairly it's pretty average. If you want to play an FPS, play HL2 or Far Cry which were also released in 2004. HL2 and FC are far from the best games ever, but over shadow Halo 2 in all aspects of an FPS...
