how come xbl wouldn't work need help! please

ok a couple years ago in like 2004 i got a xbox and halo2 for my birthday and halo 2 came with a free xbl for like a month or something....and it expierd like in like 9 months or something idk.so a couple months later after i got my xbox i tried puting my xbox in the room with the computer and it has internet and i tried playing halo 2 on xbox live but......it let me make my name ....but it wouldn't let me play xbl!!!!!!!! what does this mean?

how did you have xbl for 9 months if you only had a free1 month subscribtion? anyways did you sign up for gold or silver xbl. silver doesnt let you play games online, but gold does

no i never had xbl.......im saying that halo2(BACK WHEN IT WAS POPULAR IN LIKE 2004) came with a free month of xbl and it expired in like 9 months idk whats gold and silver?

Gold and Silver are the subscription plans for Xbox 360.

Xbox Classic only has the option to pay for a subsctiption, which costs the same amount as a Gold Subscription for Xbox 360.
