I played KOTOR 1 so many times, not only is it an AMAZING story but there are soo many different ways to play it. KOTOR 2 was a game I played the first day I got it and then left it on my shelf. The story sucks and it just isn't that good of a sequel. Even if you hated KOTOR2, but like Star Wars, the original Knights of the Old Republic game is a must have.
Well that's good new because I actually thought that KOTOR 2 was my favorite RPG, but I guess I'll change my mind when I get the first one. Besides that, but there are Action Replay game saves to play as Revan.
Most defitly the first is better, and you should catch onto the story with the first as well. There was some more comfortable changes in the second, such as dual wielding, switch weapons, and easier power and feat progrssion. Overall the first is still better, the second was a bit lacking in story and used the Sith and Jedi legends from the previous game for it. There was no real history in the second.
as far as the storyline goes, the first one is better. but in the second KOTOR the controls and look of the game has been updated , but the storyline is lacking. I personaly liked the first game better than the second.
I never played the first KOTOR on the Xbox (as I have it for the PC), but all I remember is KOTOR 2 had awful graphics. They were simply the worst graphics I've ever seen on a 3D console. They were bland, jaggy, low-resolution, and ultimately crap. The first game (if it looks any better), is a LOT better than the second.

I agree. I thought the first onelooked better and had better collision detection. In the second onceI saw my characterwalk througha dead enemy andthatkilled it for me.
I've played both and although they're both excellent games, KOTOR1 is better.. for me, it was mostly because of the storyline and the surprises that just kept coming in the plot.. very nicely done.
Kotor 2 wasnt great because Lucasart pushed Obsidian into trying to finish the game for Chrismas. If Obsidian was allowed more time tahn we'd all have closure to Kotor.
Yeah, I did the same thing you did here. I bought kotor 2 and loved it, then bought kotor 1 afterwords. Trust me, the 1st one is much better than the 2nd and will tie up some wierd things you didn't understand in the 1st game.

Not only that but the areas in the cut scenes(where the greatest graphics where held) where of you flying your ship here, there, anywhere. I thought it was kind of pointless to watch 20 or so movies of your ship taking off.
