KotOR had a better storyline, KotOR 2 had a better influence system & overall a longer game, bit imo KotOR 2 had some bad non-enjoyable lvs (Malicore 5 sticks out most) & overall KotOR 2 felt less engaging, I liked KotOR 1 better, but I enjoyed KotOR 2 aswell...
I liked knights of the old republic 1, until you went to go get your first lightsaber. By then, you already had seen yoda ripoffs, and it felt like a sad cheap knock off of star wars. That and the gameplay was pretty generic.

Both were very good, but the KOTOR 1 stands out much more than KOTOR 2. I really wish they'd release a third one.RipaX21
They are, its gonna be called "Mass Effect" for some reason haha. No really tho, Lucasarts has said they haven't forgotten about the series, so we'll see another, hopefully one with a development cycle longer than a year, at leas then they could upgrade the engine a bit.

I didn't enjoy KOTOR II. The story wasn't as good as KOTOR and it was graphically dissapointing. The new characters that the developers put in lacked the charm of the first and the whole thing ended up being a mess (like most of their games, esp Neverwinter Nights 2)
I agree that Kotor one has a better story line which is why I like it better it also allows for a flexible character because of it's developed game-play. One of the major drawbacks of the story (game-play) is how long it takes to complete Taris fully... using the light side situations.

Yoda rip offs? You do know that Yoda is part of an alien species, right? One of hte movies had a female of that type on the Jedi Council. She never said anything though
I liked both - OXM leaked in April or May thatdevelopers (Bioware, I believe) are in fact developing KOTOR III for the 360 with a release in 2008 - also The Force Unleased is due out in April for the 360 so it should be a good year for SW fans

I hope they're just denying to keep it under wraps. We really need some new SW games for next-gen. KOTOR I&II are awesome, but I've played them so much I could quote them. Even if they never do a part III, at least we have the classics.
i played kotor 1, like 9 times i know that game inside out. played kotor 2 about 6 times, found a bunch of cool stuff innit too, but its not even half as good as chuck norris
KOTOR 2 fell apart at the end. Also the inclusion of Bastilla and Revan was tacked on. I would of prefered if the developers picked a completley different time for Kotor 2 Maybe during the Hpyer Space War or the EX Car Kun war.
Kotor definitely had a better story than kotor2, although kotor2 hadsome nifty things kotor did not, like physical party alignment changes and technical improvements.
I'll have to go with the original kotor. The story, characters, and setting was just about perfect.
