Kotor 1 because I actually bought it and played it all the way through. Kotor 2 was alright but nowhere as fantastic as the first one. If a 3rd one came out I wouldn't get it unless they revamped the combat system.FateStayNightRevamping the fighting system would change the KOTOR experience entirely, since it isn't some thrown-together system - it follows D&D combat rules. They may as well not make another KOTOR if they're gonna change it. They could maybe make it more of the free-roam fighting but then it'd just be another Jedi Knight game. KOTOR requires more strategy and that's what makes it unique.
As for which one to choose, i agree with getting both. KOTOR 1 has the superior storyline but KOTOR 2 is just plain fun, since you can max out the characters more & really inflict pain... or justice, whatever you want to call it.
I thought 1 had the better storyline, but really if you're in the market for this game, you really have to get both, considering how cheap they are now.I bought a used xbox the other day(sold my original one a year ago for 360)and I'm glad I had the sense to keep KOTOR 1 & 2.They're keepers
