The standard five that people will mention are...
Knights of the Old Republic
Knights of the Old Republic 2
Fable
Jade Empire
Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
Other than that, I've heard good things about Phantom Dust (if you can find it) and there's also the X-Men Legends games that are good with friends as well.
Exactly what I would have said. And if you can find Fable: The Lost Chapters, all the better (it is the main game, but with more content). I found it at Futureshop for $15. And the Elder Scrolls III was $15 as well. The standard five that people will mention are...

I'm going to say
But you can never go wrong with Kotor I and II, Fable:Lost Chaperts, or Morrowind. They are all great games.

Oh yeah, definitely gotta agree there......the Fable and KOTOR series are awesome!
Underrated, unknown RPGs you should play:
Shenmue 2
Phantom Dust
Sudeki
Panzer Dragoon Oorta (not an rpg, but buy it anyways)
All of these would be dirt-cheap these days. Buy them before they're gone.

I do have Phantom Dust, and I plan on getting all of those someday, hopefully before too long.
anything by bioware, fable, but for the love of god stay away from the xbox version of morrowind. it's been hell playing it when compared to the pc version and not a very good game without mods.TarzanTheMan
Good thing I don't love god then... The Xbox version is pretty good and they do a good job of translating the game from PC. It's actually a better port than Half-Life 2 in terms of controls and so forth. The mods for Morrowind are okay, but I personally don't use them that much and they are not necessary to enjoy Morrowind. I have it on both Xbox and PC and I play it on both, going back and forth.
I think there were more than five RPGs on the Xbox...
There were really no underrated RPGs on the Xbox. The KotOR series, Fable, Morrowind, and Jade Empire all got a good deal of press and good reviews. Out of all of those named, Jade Empire was probably the least in the spotlight. So if you don't have that, definitely give it a go. It was damn good.SavoyPrime
