I love Halo 2 single player, but find its multiplayer to be too arcadey, full of jerks and lacking in genuine co-ordinated teamplay. I'm looking for something a bit more cerebral. A bit more sim-like. A bit more PC. A game where teamplay is vital to winning. To this end, which is the better game online and why, Rainbox Six 3 or Rainbox Six: Black Arrow? I do not care for Rainbow Six: Lockdown. From what I hear, it is too arcadey. (This is a side note, but which of the two games is better in single player? Again, why?)

I'm not sure about online but I can comment on single-player... I thought Rainbow Six 3's single-player was more immersive and I got more involved more in it than I did in Black Arrow...

They are both excellent games.  Black Arrow is much more multiplayer focused but the single player is very similar to Rainbow Six 3's.  Black Arrow has clans and more multiplayer game types and I think it has more maps.  Overall Black Arrow is better.

I actually own Brothers In Arms: Earned In Blood. Great game. On the multiplayer modes side, how do both games fare, with regards to objective based games? I like the odd deathmatch here and there but I much prefer objectives. Which game has more?

If you like objectives then like the person above said, get GR Summit Strike.  You can play any mission in the game with others.  Depending on the players your playing with this can be easy or hard.  My wife and I both play.  I have two copies of the game so I'm not speaking from a lack of experience.  I play on my 360 she plays on the xbox.  With some cool friends Summit Strike rocks.  Plus there were new maps, modes, and weapons recently added.  Just to whet our appetite for Advanced Warfighter coming out.

Rainbow six 3 and BA were good the first couple months they were out but the rudness of the xbox live community ruined those games for me.Also with no jump button  its alittle harder to get a good strategic plan anymore. If you do get and play online just remember you can shoot through walls at people.I used to do it all the time.Just barely move around a corner and viola! Im telling you this cause its been out along time and if you dont know this secret then youll get owned.

1. You find Halo 2’s multi-player to be “arcady”? I heard countless times that it has a very good multi-player mode, although I agree that many of the people playing aren’t nice at all.

Yes, I also heard that although Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Lockdown had very good single-player and multi-player modes (it got a score of eight from GameSpot), it had the feel of an arcade game.

I’m assuming you’re just asking about the Xbox versions of the games. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 is said to have very good single-player and multi-player modes. It also got a score of eight from GameSpot. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3: Black Arrow is said to have just as good single-player and multi-player modes. It also got a score of eight from GameSpot. It would probably be better to get Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3 first.
