I made a similar toipic earlier, but I'm going to make another since a few things have changed. I want a Microsoft console, reeeeaaly bad! I obviously want a 360 more than a regular, but It is so freakin expensive, and there are already plenty of good games for the x-box. But I heard there are a lot of versions of the origional x-box, and a lot of them die. If I get one, will it last the school year? If it does, I will simply, get a reg. x-box to last me the school year and in the summer I will get a job and earn a 360. If not, well, I'll make due with my Game Cube for 9 months or so.

Xbox is good, and there are a lot of good games on it, but I would either wait until you can afford an Xbox 360 or get a 360 now!

You can still play Xbox games on 360 and they aren't that expensive compared to a PS3 and it is well worth the money - PS3's in my opinion don't compare to the Xbox 360 so it's up to you - do you want to spend money on an Xbox which you will only use for a while, then splash out again on a 360.

Your Choice.

I agree with Eddie here, buy it now if you can't wait, or save up for the 360.

Buy the 360, the XBOX is all but dead. I overheard a convo in a EB Games where the employee was saying that as soon as they sold out of the NEW (meaning never been purchased) games, they weren't going to be getting any more games in at all. Further proof, I was walking in best buy and I could count the number of individual XBOX titles on 1 hand (Halo 2, davinci code, dead or alive ultimate and one other).

Buy the 360 for the backwards compatibility and the fact that is will last for years to come.

My Xbox died last week so I had to make a decision...do I fork over $78 or so for a used Xbox or put the money towards a 360.

I decided to bite the bullet and get the 360. I'm pretty sure I've made the right choice but I'll be able to confirm that Tuesday when I get Bioshock.

if u want an original xbox, make sure that it has the samsung dvd drive. if it has a thomson then your screwed. the phillips drives arn't all that bad but the samsung drive is the most reliable out of the three. but i would reccomend just waiting a while untill you have enough money for a 360.

Yeah, the original Xbox is fading fast. I went to go buy an original Xbox game from Bestbuy to play on my 360, but Bestbuy only had 4 copies of Halo 2. And that was it. I really want Morrowind! Haha, get the 360 when you can. Wasting money on something that you might get bored of will be a very bad experience, so save your money until you have enough for a 360. I'd rather play my Gamecube than buy an Xbox.

My old xbox still runs strong after like 4-5 years. Lots of great games for it used at gamestop, but you may want to bite the bullet and get a 360 for all of its great games, plus it's backwards compatible with a lot of the old but great xbox games.
