how do you start the main quest on morrowind?leetzer
On the way out of that census office where you created your character, talk to that uber-guard in the last room before you enter the vilage. He will give you the mission to bring certain papers to someone in Balmora. Take the slit-strider to Balmora and talk to the guy. He is the one that will give you the next few main missions.
I'm sorry I don't have the names, but its been a while since I played it.
is a very very very VERY ugly game that made me throw up. (NO JOKE)killagorilla25It's always depressing when such a great game does not get the recognition it deserves...

Cassius is the name of the guy in Balmora, I believe. It should be in your journal if you finished setting up you character and followed the directions of talking to the guard guy.just to let you know there are other quests besides the main ones. like outside of seyda neen there is a silt strider. right in front of that there is a cave. in that cave are 3 prisoners you can save. there are also 3 or 4 enemies in there too. so instead of just doing the main quests do the side ones too.roadkill103I highly recommend getting the Morrowind Prophecies. It's the strategy guide for the game, and it explains things in a way that you can get the most out of on one playthrough. There are a crapload of factions, and you can join them all, except you can only join one of the Great Houses, so think it through.
:x Just make sure not to be cheap and pay to use the strider.... I thought the walk to Balmora would be short... but...flipin_jackassYeah, but if you are new to the game, those couple of miles can kill you. Several times...

Indeed. I decided to take a walk, and I was able to kill a couple of monsters. I then walked further... to, you know- enjoy the scenary of Morrowind. But a flying monster eventually started chasing me and I ran for miles until it finally killed me... bah...

I wouldn't call it an ugly game, it was very nice looking for the time and the graphics are still nice by today's standards. My only problem was the three minute loading screens. That, on its own stoped me from finishing the game.

Yeah, but it sets you upfor the future. In the beginning you feel so weak and almost everything can kill you. Then, the longer you play, the stronger you get,the better you get, the more powerful you become. You feel like a god when you cankill things in a single strike, instead of it justseeming easy...

Yeah. Overall, I prefer the PC version, but I still like the Xbox version.
The Xbox version of this sucks, badly. Get the PC one, it's amazing. (I am now playing obliv on Xbox 360 though now so morrowind seems rubbish)baneat
Morrowind on the Xbox isn't really that bad.
And I prefer Morrowind much more than Oblivion.
I play Morrowind on the PC, but I have played it on the Xbox before. Personally, I prefer to play it on the PC. Better controls, faster load times, better graphics...the whole package seemed better. If, by the terrible fate of God, I had a PC that couldn't run Morrowind, I'd definitely own the Xbox version.
As far as Morrowind vs Oblivion, that could be a whole thread in and of itself, but I personally liked both for their own things. Morrowind had more to do, but Oblivion was just an all-around excellent game as well. To me comparing Oblivion and Morrowind is honestly like comparing apples and oranges.
