Too late for a new one, if thats the question. Otherwise, the used ones are pretty good. However, as DTM says, spend the money on a 360 instead. You can play NGB, Halo, and Halo 2 on that, and get NG2 and Halo 3 when they come out.
Yes it is too late to buy a brand new Xbox,but not too late to grab up a preowned console and have fun. You're not on a timer or anything man,if you want to get an XBox then get one! :)
it's not to late, unless you really want to buy a 360 and just don't have the money, I'd get a xbox. It's like $100, get some of the great games for $20, play them for a while. Like i said, if you are looking to buy a 360 soon, then skip it, but if your looking at like a PS3 or something, get a xbox
I'd say it's not too late. There's the entire Xbox library there on the cheap,and just because you aren't 'with the times' with new consoles isn't going to make great games like Ninja Gaiden and Forza any less fun.
they (microsoft) has totally ceased production of anything xbox.. so the decision is really up to you, are you wanting the older cheaper console that is going to have the cheaper games available but will not have the new releases-halo3!!!- all that stuff.... or do you want the newer console thats going to deliver in the future but may be lacking in full blown game support now.. decisoins decisions...
I would go for a 360 most definatly.. but if you dont have the cash i would suggest rooting through ebay and see what you find trhere... the magic of eay workds wonders my friend...
id say if u cant afford the 360 buyin the xbox aint dumb at all.i cant even describe how much fun and no. of hours spent playin the 2 halos on this thing and ninja gaiden black.its also gr8 if yer into other shooters cuz its according to me da best platform to play all da previous tom clansy franchises on.if u get a good deal id go for it.cuz my xbox even after 4 yrs have never caused a problem.so it wudnt be risky plus dirt cheap games.ive got over 50 games and play a lot of em even tday.im not goin for ne thing next gen till atleast they have 20 excellent games worth buyin at da time of purchasing the console.cuz in da end its da games tat count and i hate waitin for a title to come out.so wait a while a buy 360 late this yr or erly nxt yr so youl have alot of games to actually get.jus my opinion.

I'd recommend IF you REALLY want the Xbox than get it.....I don't think it's too late lol I got mine this past tuesday man and i love it anywayz I am getting a 360 but just not now though but I'll still get it.....So I think if you really want it take advantage of the moment man used or new Xbox and the games are as cheap as hell....SO yeah get one.......

yeah its pretty late, but if u wanted to play the games, not on the 360 it would be nice to get it. there are alot of games to play for the xbox that are so awesome.
its never to late to buy a system imo, pick it up. the games are cheap and you can build a huge collection real cheap and by the time you get tired of your xbox you should have enough by then to pick up a xbox360
There are a lot of great games out there for the original Xbox and like others said you can get incredile deals on them. I just picked up the limited edition of Jade Empire a few days ago now for 5 bucks.
Yeah it's disappointing that there aren't any games being released for the original Xbox anymore and seems like MS pulled the plug a little early on it to support the 360 and all but the bargins and such that exist on the original can really let a individual build up a very nice collection while saving for another system be it the 360, PS3 or Wii. Plus having the original sytem to play those great games on for years to come is always nice when BC seems like something that MS and even Sony isn't going to play as large as a roll as it did with the PS2 supporting almost ever game from the PS1's lilbrary.
My opinion would be if you want it, get it and enjoy it. Lots of great games that were never released on the PS2 to play. Ninja Gaiden Black, KOTOR I and II, Fable, Jade Empire and the list goes on.
I would say do some research and see if the games you want to play are backwards compatible with the 360. If they are just get the 360 and save some money. If not try to find a cheap used Xbox.
