What Does Xbox Mean???

Maybe it's just a random name they gave it.

What does Playstation or Gamecube mean? Just names I presume.

Its a box with an X on top of it.

Maybe X like the mathematical variable, something unknown.

Lol i thought everyone who owned an xbox knew this, but i guess im wrong. When MS made the basis of the xbox the directx 8.1. they named it something like directxbox and that sounded clunky so they called it xboxpeeweeshift

Yup! That's true, it would've been stupid for a game console to be called DirectXbox right? So that's why it's called Xbox

I just thought they called it the X-box because it kinda sounded cool.
