I believe he was referring to an Xbox 360. An original Xbox sells for $50-$80, so I'd say you could get $30-$40, depending on where you take it.
On a side note, I have a friend who sold a sealed Virtual Boy to a pawn shop for $175. The only reason they gave him so much for it was because it was unopened.
If he was talking about a 360 then he needs to post in the 360 forum. The only way you could get 200 bucks for it would be if you sold it with around 20 games, 4 controllers, an extra hard drive, and a fancey cover. And even then you'd probably end up selling it for 150. Ok, maybe that's a slight exaduration, but you get my point. I went to gamestop and for $95 I got the Xbox, a controller, all the cables, a one year worrenty (If it crashes within one year,I take it back and they'll give me another one) and HALO.

the current value of a classic xbox is $50. i only know this cause i just bought one and looked into price variations its wrth any where from $70-40 but 50 is wut i payed,8)
Well, I purchased a used BOX console from Gamecrazy for 50 dollars. Purchased the 1 year warranty for an extra 10 dollars, So far so good on the console.
paint it all fancy (color the X) with some spray paint and sell it on ebay with some matching controllers and a few games and you might be able to get $150 for it.

Its funny cause I was just going from store to store the other day, asking what they would give me for my Xbox (upgrading to 360) And its too bad really, I remember when i paid like 200 bucks for my brand new Xbox, and now its worth so little. Try selling it to a friend, or someone you know, you might get a better deal.
