I personally liked all three equally, but I would say that if you have to only get one, get the Two Thrones.  It has the charm of the first, is longer, and keeps all the awesomeness of the second, along with adding the Dark Prince in.

Since each game leads into the next, start at the beginning

Yeah. What one of the previous guys said. If you only have to get 1, get Two Thrones. Otherwise, start from the first. Honestly, the first was my favorite.

Of course, you can skip the second, if you really needed to, and just play the first and third. The second is kinda iffy... I mean, I loved it 'cause I love the gameplay, but story-wise it's kinda awkward, I felt.

I feel that the first one is the best place to start. It has a great storybook feel to it and is loads of fun. Despite some really clever level design and chase sequences, the second feels fairly flawed and has some game-breaking glitches. The third is a good return to form but still doesn't match the first even with the additions of instant kills (nerve shreddingly brilliant) and some clever boss fights.

P.O.P:SoT is awesome being the first game of the trilogy, P.O.P:W.W is also really, really good, lengthy as hell, hard as hell, and it has this evil felling to it....P.O.P:T2T is really good too it captures the feeling of the Sands Of Time and it let's go of the Prince's 'badittude' and it's lengthy and challenging when you think about solving puzzles with the Dark Prince while your health is going down....If I could choose between the 3 I would personnally say the third one is my favorite being that it captures like I said the feeling of the first game...But I would say you start from the top then beat the 2nd and 3rd you know for story reasons :P....

They are all equally bad, repetitive gameplay, fight, fight, puzzle, cutscene, repeat.

I agree. I was gonna say the same thing. They just makes u repeat the same process over and over throughout the whole game

It's a Prince of Persia game. That's what it does. It's like complaining that Street Fighter makes you fight all the time

On the other hand, the puzzles have great variety, challenging difficult, and the fighting engine keeps getting better with each game, and the story is great

Very nicely said :)

But yeah, The Two Thrones in my opinion. Sands Of Time, while technically superb with plenty of puzzles and charm, lacked a decent combat system. Then Warrior Within - great combat system, but oh god they replaced the charm with gore and violence!

The Two Thrones is just a yummy combination of both.

In my opinion the third installment, The Two Thrones was the best.  I did not like the second one, so avoid that.

Sands of Time is the best of the three by far for being a great platformer and action game.
