Its pretty sad that they are just going to kick it to the curb like this. Xbox's are still pretty sweet. Granted they're no longer top of the food chain it doesn't mean there is anything wrong with them. plus with like 500+ games for the damn thing there is still lots of fun to be had.
i have both a xbox and a 360, the 360 isnt fully b/c so i still need my xbox. plus i wouldnt waste my time selling my xbox for$20/$40 bucks when i paid $299 for it on launch

I made the mistake of trading my xbox for a 360, great console but i was one of the very unlucky ones that had multiple 360's:( so im sticking with my new original xbox until they get the problems sorted.

What do you mean its all about next gen...? When your parents became Grandparents or when they changed from kid to adult did that mean we just forget about them and move on? No, theres still lots of good times with them!! XBox does have NHL 08 coming out too Natester10... I think.

I won't be wasting my money on a new-gen system for a couple years yet. I have a very low income, so I have waited for a long time to get some of the great Xbox games that I couldn't get at their $50 price tag. In fact, the next console I buy might be a PlayStation 2 so that I can play some of the exclusives like God of War and such that I couldn't play before.
Next-gen doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be better. There have been a lot of problems with the 360 and it hasn'tproven itself to be a superior system when compared to the XBOX. So with that said I'm going to wait and see how the system and games progress before buying a 360.
XBOX is dead in business terms, ad newer things equal massive PROFIT and nVidia killed the xbox when they stopped making chips (google it) but I will continue playing mine!
I sold mine on Ebay with the Logitech cordless remote (which is still one of the best controllers I have ever used)! I got $115.00 for the lot. not bad. I would like to play Oddworld Strangers Wrath and Riddick however, so the next compatibility update should inclusde those 2 stelllar titles, which are some of the most technically advamced on the Xbox.
Yeah for anyone looking at giving up on their XBOX, I recommend you hold on to that thought for quite a while. Just look at the library of games and honestly ask yourself if you're ready to give it up. Get both and play both and have a good f'n time!

I'm sticking with my original to the bitter end ... there are tons of games still to play, the games I want to play, and I won't upgrade until new GTA, Splinter Cell, Ninja Gaiden and all my top guns are only available on the 360. There just isn't that much drawing me to the next level yet. Also, I'm pissed that there have been so many reported problems with the next gens and that the price is still through the roof.

That's another (oops) reason why I don't go to the next gen for a long time. I would hate to have my new consle die on me.
hehe i didnt have to pay $300? for the xbox because my aunt gave it to me for free. but yeah you can always *cough* softmod *cough* your xbox to make it a still worthy system :twisted:
