xbox disc read error!!! help!!!

i was playing black for a good 2-3 hours, turned off my xbox, ate dinner, turned it on, and it came up with a disc read error!!!  i tried it with 4-5 of my games, and i came up with the same thing!  im letting it cool down right now, does anyone know what to do?

you can try on using a dvd lens cleaner or a can of compressed air to clean the lens.

ahh nvm it started working again after i waited for a while.  dont know why it kept getting disc read errors tho

hey, a good way to clean a disk just in case it happen again, use windex and use a paper towel to whipe it off

Sounds like a overheating issue. Try putting out in a open space to see if that helps.

Well I still have my XBOX (The only system that lasted me) it has trouble pushing out the disc tray and I have to slap it on top of the XBOX to open it (Now I have a reason to abuse it) and it wont load GTA:SA for me but all my game's have scratchs on them from were I played and beat them so much (Ya im braging whats up!)

Get a new drive on ebay for $50. Worked like a charm for me after my disk read errors.

what has always worked for me, has been to clean the disc with a soft wipe sold at stores for this purpose. Don't wipe the disc in a circular motion; start at the inner circle and wipe in a linear fashion turning the disc to get it all clean.

Keep your xbox in a ventilated area. If cleaning and ventilation don't work, you have a more serious problem.
