Well, I wouldn't dismiss it and your probibly right about it being overpriced LOL. Me personally I like having a disc so if I dislike the game I can atleast get some of my money back by selling it. This would be a horrible day for gaming, no selling, no buying used plus hard drives eventually fail which may or may not be a hastle to recoup what you bought.:(

This is more of a next gen thing... Its not happening. What sucks is you can get a 500gb 2.5 SATA Hdd (laptop Hdd/ PS3 Hdd) for under 100 bucks. 120gb for $150 or 500gb for $99.. M$ is jerking us like normal. Upgrade for my other system here I come.

That's one thing I could never figure out about Microsofts digital distribution plans. Why make the HDD's so expensive? It should be like cell phones. The hardware is cheap to get you in while the company makes their money off the service. If the HDD's are priced too high you lose out on the hardware sale as well as the service sales. It makes no sense.

Uh.. Idk what you guys are arguing about but a Terabyte is 1024 GBs. 1000 GBs (as the topic says) is NOT a Terabyte.

yes thank you, a 1000 gb is 24 gb short of a terabyte, but gatsbythepig somewhere saw a 1000mb in the first post

Anyway, back to topic, yes a terabyte hd from microsoft would be expensive:shock:

1 Terabyte for a 360 hard drive seems insane. That's a lot of memory even for a gamer and definitely for the 360 a console. I would not even drop money for a 240 if they made one that is. Hell a terabyte would last you beyond the next-next gen consoles.

Where I live, the separate 120GB is $159.99, which gets close to $200 bucks after taxes.

A 1TB hard drive sure as hell won't be cheap...

I wish the 360 had a simple HDD setup like a computer or PS3. I got my 500GB PS3 hard drive for $119.99...

Believe me, some people need a lot of space, like myself. I needed a big HDD upgrade for my PS3 so I could dump all my movies on there and watch them on the big screen. No more discs or anything, just one large hard drive.

Well before being taken down MS had an Ad about games you can DD off live. One of them was Mass Effect. Now if someone was going to only get games by DD then they would need a big Hard drive, especially with music, movies, demos, etc on top of that.

All this would only make sense if the price of downloaded games was less than those bought, meaning you eventually are saving money using an HDD.

Shame about not being able to trade games in this way though.
