I have a 1080p Sony Bravia and I cannot get HD over VGA. Does Microsoft have any plans to release a patch that allows 1080p over VGA on the Bravia? If not, I'll probably end up getting an Elite.

I had a 1080p Sony Bravia for a while and despite the manuals claim that it does not do 1080p over vga if you hook up the 360 via vga it will work at 1080p. It will give you a littler error saying resolution not supported which you just click away but tests have found that does indeed work at 1080p.

They must have updated the firmware for the TVs cause mine doesn't give an error message....it just works...no issues at all....

How do you get 1080p? I went to display settings and saw a list of resolutions. I chose the highest one (1920 x 1080) and the image became very blurry.

Is yours an XBR? If it is, the XBR's don't have this issue, only the 2500s. Not a big deal though, just a tiny message you can clear when the 360 starts up

Don't know what to tell you. That's the tv I had and VGA worked fine. You might want to check the tv settings, perhaps sharpness is way down.

If your HDTV doesn't accept 1080p over VGA, it's not MS's fault. A TV has to be designed to do it.
