Its going to at first because everything is in a nice neat little location on the disk, just wait until stuff starts getting loaded all over the place.
I don't think they went to a bigger cache hard drive. Your head is just playing with you.budorz
Yeah, unless there is a larger cache on the HD, the only reason things may seem to load faster is because the cache has been cleared out. And like others have said, as soon as you start transferring data back and forth from all over the place, rest assured those familar load times will return.
I don't know I would have to see the specs of the original 20GB and the new 120GB. My experience in IT tells me that usually when drives go up in size they also get better access time as a side effect. Also smaller 2.5 inch drives could have been moving at 4500 RPM, while most newer SATA 2.5" drives spin at 5400 RPM, which is significantly faster. This is all theoretical so I would need to see the exact model numbers of the two drives so I could find the specs. As to noticing a difference myself, I haven't really paid to much attention. However, Ridge Racer 6, on my original 360 used to always "hiccup" during the opening animation. With my new elite it know longer does that... So perhaps they use a better optical drive too.
