Everything on one harddrive will transfer over to the other. But I've heard though I do not know for sure that some things you will not be able to use on the other harddrive unless you are signed into Xbox Live which is pretty stupid on Microsoft's part. It has something to do with the anti-piracy protections encoded on the downloads.Ket87
Anything that's bought from marketplace is tied to the profile and 360 used to buy the item. If you are only changing hard drive you should be fine because you are still using the same profile and 360. However, if you are, say, changing from Pro console to Elite, any iten you bought will now only be usable if your new Elite is connected to Xbox Live. This includes Themes, Gamerpics, Videos, Arcade Games etc.
Microsoft is obviously very worried about rampant theme theft if this system wasn't used.
I am purchasing an Elite very soon, I am upgrading from my Pro.
Are you saying when I transfer my data I am going to loose my picts, themes, etc?
That stinks if that is the case!!!!

You won't loose them but you will have to be connected to Xbox Live to use them. If you aren't connected to Live your gamerpics and themes won't be usable and your bought arcade games will be trial games once again.
I learnt this the hard way. I had to buy a Core at launch. When Pro's were available off the shelf I upgraded. The arcade games I bought with the Core like Geometry Wars and Bankshot Billiards are now trial games unless I connect to Live.
