1750 Achievements on Halo 3?

Has anyone else noticed that Halo 3 now has a total of 1750 with 79 achievements on Xbox.com? :?...or am I hallucinating?

Yeah the new achievements are pretty awesome, but it's too bad you can't even get some of them yet...

I think they should have made them available for local matches also, so Live won't be cluttered with achievement ******. That and I think Bungie kinda just went ape with it. Some games can pull it off (Orange Box). It feels like they just added them for no reason to try and make it seem worth while.
