All of the reviews say how tedious the first few levels are, but it's decent. The atmosphere has a survival horror feel to it. The graphics aren't bad. HDR is used and the poly counts are decent. The shadow effects are good at certain angles, but then fade out at other angles. The physics is great, so far. The environment has a ton of destructable elements and you can toss just about anything by using a wind power.
The enemy AI isn't great, but they say funny things. I killed one and the enemy next to him says, "We didn't really need him anyway."
Controls are good, but feel a little fast.
They did a great job with Alicia (the main character). Her animations are very good.
Of course, anything can change as I get into the game.
Uhh, Alicia's animations are not that great. Have you seen her animation for turning around? I've seen the exact same turning animation on old PS1 games (a la Resident Evil). Didn't expect it in a next-gen game.

Wrong. I think you are referring to the close-up view. There are 2 views. By clicking the right thumbstick, you zoom in and her body follows the camera. When zoomed out, the camera is like Splinter Cell where it rotates around the character.

You're probably right. It seems like the Japenese developers have some decent ideas, but the execution is often lacking. So far, Team Ninja and Capcom are the only ones to put out good games for the 360. But I haven't written off BW as a bad game, yet. I like it so far.
