I just had this problem. All i did was simply give it a TON of ventilation space and make sure it's on a hard flat surface NOT carpet. Mine works fine so far.

P.S. 2 means that it's an overheating problem. I would not recommend doing the towels EVER again haha.

Read the Xbox 360 manual, it tells you what the lights mean. If I remember correctly, I think that means your console is overheating. Putting it in a towel would just worsen it. Leave it off for a while, let it cool. It'll work eventually.

Yeah all you have to do is leave it off. The least is 10 mins. Thats how long I waited and it worked. I had that problem a month ago and nothing ever happened since then. OH and unplug the power plug too. That can help. (Fans don't they just waste more power. cooling fans are a waste).

Yeah good call on that. I unplugged everything and plugged it back in too. Just make sure it gets real good ventilation. I try to keep my room as cool as possible as well.

just look at the air intakes on your console and see if they have dust in them, this will make it heat up more and that's not good for consoles. Unplug everything and vacuum out all the dust you can see, and do this regularly if your console gets dusty.

Doing this will make your xbox be able to breathe more and let the hot air out, so it won't overheat as much.

thats what i did
