I got the the 2 RRODoom today...actually 2x.

I could unplug the 360 and turn it back on again. but after a few minutes the 2 RROD would return. xbox.com says it means the 360 is overheating due to decrease ventilation.

Solution: This worked for my laptop so I thought I'd give it a try on the 360. Using a vacuum, I placed the hose on the vented areas of the 360 (top, bottom, sides, back and front, in all the holes and connectors) for 20 seconds. I worked the vacuum around those areas little by little. then I slided the hose on the areas again 10 times on all vented areas. After I was done I plugged the 360s power, video and ethernet cable, turned on the 360 and problem solved...2 RROD gone.

I place a cover on the 360 before I go to bed to prevent the dust from accumulating and I plan to vacuum the 360 twice a week...It's fans are quieter now

2 rings just means your system is overheated and you need to let it cool down.

Yes, it means the 360 is overheating. after it cools down the 2RROD will return. Using the vacuum solves the 2 RROD from happening again. Its been 2 days now and i have no problem, also the fans arent as noisy

its because dust r collecting making it harder for it to kool, so doing that is fine, but twice a week is not really needed, once a week is fine, but up to u, n others! w00t ! lol

i had the ring twice. the first time i had it i was scared that my xbox was stuffed but all i did was turn it off, come back in an hour or two and turn it on, i didn't get the ring again

i guess it's just because it gets over heated

This happened to me a lil while ago while trying to d/l the prince of persia dlc... It was weird, the system got really loud like it was working the fan really hard, then about 5min later I got the black screen and the 2 red rings... I turned it on again after I shut it off and it did the same thing (I guess cuz it didn't finish cooling)... So far it's been off for almost an hour, so I'm prolly gonna try again in a while... I just find it odd that it did that when I was trying to d/l the DLC for PoP, I mean I've d/l'd alot of things before and never has it done that.... Has this happened to anyone else?
