20gigs would be adequate if you only want to have save files and are content with having only a few demos or arcade games at the same time.
Installing games to the HDD wouldn't be an option I suspect as most games weigh in at around 6gigs.
So if you're happy enough with that, then cool. I've got 250GB so I never have to delete anything really.
If you don't want to buy a 250gig hard drive and are planning to fit the old HDD into the new slim, you could always buy a 60 or 120GB HDD off eBay or somewhere, they're dirt cheap nowadays since the launch of the slim.

It depends. Not for me because I download a lot of full games and arcade games from XBL. Not to mention, I install all of my games off the disc. If you are using it for only save games/updates then it should be fine.

Thank you everyone for your input. I have given it a lot of thought and have decided to go with balfe1990 suggestion and buy a xbox slim 4g model and buy 60g or 80g separate. That should be more than enough for someone like me. Thank you everyone for your input. I feel some dlc in the future may be huge and I wouldn't have enough space for it.[QUOTE="balfe1990"]Thank you everyone for your input. Bear in mind that the old Hard Drives (20GB, 60GB, 120GB) don't officially fit into the Slim but there are ways around it.
I've never tried it so it's up to you whether you want to do it or not as it involves a bit of DIY. It may or may not be risky, you can decide for yourself:

Okay, for the third time, you can't use the old hard drives on a slim. The only hard drive that works is the 250 gig.

so how much is this 60gb going cost ya? Do know buying a 4gb xbox can get you a $50 gift card at most stores, and 25ogbs get you $75, You could buy 4gb get the $50 toss in other 50 for the 250Don't use a hard drive for your saves. They fail. Use a USB pen. Flash memory is much more reliable and you can also back your saves up with programs like 360revolution. My other advice is to get a 4GB and buy a third party HDD if you find the disc drive too loud. You can find new 4GB's for $180 shipped, and new 250GB drives for as low as $40. They have to be flashed though so the 360 recognizes them (takes like 2 minutes)istuffedsunny
I never thought of that actually.
You can just forget about the hard-drive, USB sticks are a far cheaper alternative.

That would work, but it is significantly slower saving and loading from a flash drive. At least it's slower in my experience. Also, you can only use 16 gigs of external memory.
The Xbox 360 S is just 299.99 with that 250GB HDD. Since your old Xbox YLOD just get the New Xbox slim with the large HDD even if you will never fill that HDD. It is not worth them time and effort to shoehorn an 20GB HDD into a Xbox S console.
I bought a 320GB HDD Red Gears of War Console and I still have my old White 20GB HDD console. So yep 20GB is enough for me, since I just use it for Game saves.
But 20GB is not enough in 2011. That is why I upgraded to Console S

I think it's actually 16gigs per stick, which allows up to 32GB assuming you have two.
