I'm looking at getting a 360, and am torn between the Pro and Elite. I'm really just wondering how fast the 20gb hard drives fill up if they're aren't used for media (specifically video and music) or XBox Originals? Is it likely to be worthwhile to get the larger drive,if I'm really just using it as a console and maybe a media extender?

If you are going to pile on the media, then you want the 120 gb for sure, but for general purpose gaming the 20 gb is fine...

I don't use the xbox for anything but gaming. So far with live arcade downloads and game saves I have just hit the 20gb mark on my 120gb. I have also had an xbox since launch, so it will take you a long while.

I'm of the opinion that it's better to have too much than not enough. You might decide to load music onto the hard drive in the future. All 360 games allow you to listen to music on the hard drive while playing games. Also expansion packs, map packs, demo's etc they all take up quite a lot of space.

Even saves take a lot of space. It's over 5mb for a single save on some games. I have over 80mb of saves for The Orange Box alone. You might not think it now but once you've had your 360 for a while you might want to use all its features. You'd have to go some to fill the 120GB hard drive but the 20GB fills up very fast. I'd only recommend the 20GB if you're the type of gamer who only owns around five games at any one time and only uses the hard drive for saves.

I just sold my Premium yesterday and bought an Elite. I just started buying movies from the movie store and I got sick of having to delete things from my 20gb hard drive to make space for movies. I had to delete all my Oblivion expansions and the Halo 3 map pack among other things to make room.

i do a lot of media downloads and such so a 120 is necessary for me but if you just do the occasional demo and just standard gaming a 20gb will do you good

I'd go with the 120 gigabyte hard drive. I just got a premium which came with the 20 GB hard drive however it seems I only get to use 13.9 GB of it for some odd reason. I've played a good six games and saved a lot on all of them and I'm down to 13.8 which is still a lot, but I can all ready tell it will be used up pretty quickly.

there's a lot of crap that comes on the hard drive such as videos and trailers and maybe a few other things you can delete. even in the end, you won't get exactly 20 gigs, but i still find the amount of space very comfortable even with my music on there.

I just upgraded to the elite. The 120gb will never be necessary if you are just playing games. If you are downloading a lot of other material, it's nice to have that much.

If spending some exrta money is not too much for you i would defenetly go with the Elite

you never know if in 3 years you might need more storage since digital content is getting more and more important

BUt obviously if you need the extra money and you don;t feel like you will need the space then get a pro.

I don;t think anybody can really answer for you.

I'd go elite though

You only need 20 GB, you can just delete games or demos to free up space.
