How come it seems like every single major game is released a little early somewhere. First it was BioShock, then halo 3, and now I heard that some people got there hands on Mass Effect. Companies really need to control there release dates better.

Why do u care if the dates get broken?? First of all, not all games have official "street dates". Secondly, if they don't have an official "street date", the retailers can sell the games whenever they receive them. They are told to adhere by non-official street dates and most do, but others don't and I think it's cool. Why should you care if other people are able to enjoy these great games a little earlier than expected?? Are you not a gamer?? Damn, I'd be the last to complain. If you think about it, this is most likely done to increase hype for the game once it's actually released to all stores.
dont forget smack down vs raw 2008 ... ive read lots of post where people already had the game, and the game supossed to come or ship out tomorow ... or kameo which came even before system hit the stores... in 2005 . and galaxy i think ive read a couple of post where that to got released in a couple of states , before today some are even getting it later ,., i gotta wait til tomorow to pick mine up
yea why do u care when they are released. seems to me that its not hurting anyone if some places release a day or a few days early. i mean cmon, the company is still getting the same amount of money per game, just some lucky souls get the game early

I'm just saying that if they are gonna release a game you should just release it to everyone. and just a question how does this question if I'm a gamer? Are you trying to say that I don't like it when other people get the game before everyone else? Well if thats what you want to know than no I don't like it when people get the games before everyone else, I would rather have them release it to everyone at the same time. Also every game I did mention had a street date.

Technically they do hurt somebody... other companies. Broken street days don't really hurt the consumers, but competing companies it can hurt a bit. Of course it depends on how many games sell at the stores. IF a story sells say 80-100 copies (doubting that would happen because that is a lot of copies) that may have taken away 40-50 sales for the other competing stores. That may not seem bad, but if that happens over and over again (like it has this year) the companies might be able to notice it.
Oh and it also hurts the companies that sell it early.... They can get hurt pretty bad because they are at complete fault if sold early.
its not only that some store are selling them early but people are finding way around stores all together and buying them off of people that probably stole it or "it fell off the back of the truck" so to speak
