2009'S Top Games

2009's main games will probaly be:

**Released in 08 but big in 09?**
- Far Cry 2 (Map Editor will keep MP alive)
- Fable 2 (Being an RPG and all)
- Gears of War 2 (GoW2 being the same as 1 with LOTS of stuff tacked on)
- CoD:WaW (Not as much as 4 seeing as it doesn't add a whole lot but will still be fun to newbies and everyone else for the odd game or two)
- Fallout 3 (See Fable 2, RPGs and all)
- Left 4 Dead

**Released in 09 and big in 09?**
- Hitman 5 (If it comes out in 09, being the first Hitman designed with next-gen consoles in mind)
- Resident Evil 5
- Splinter Cell: Conviction (When they do eventually release it)
- Halo Wars (Well it's Halo)
- Halo 3: Recon (Ditto)
- Final Fantasy XIII
- FEAR 2 (Which one, there will be two unless I'm mistaken?)
- Alan Wake (Was going to say that but haven't heard anything about it for ages so presumed it was canceled as it was promised early 08 at first)
- Mafia 2 (Definetly, it's the Mafia!)
- Godfather 2 (Been waiting on this for a while)
- Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising (If they manage to pull it off, there being massive distances and good graphics)
- Bioshock 2 (Need I say more?)
- Call of Duty 6 (Granted it comes in a bit late)

Well late 08/09. Because they are released so late in the year people will still be playing them come 09.

I think top i like is halo wars then cod 5, i got saints row 2 i think its is unreal best ever then gears 2, halo recon and lotr coquest

- Saints Row 2 (Haven't played it myself but the general thoughts from my mates who have is that it isn't partiucalry memerable so won't lastvery long)

Just saw the trailer. Looks like they woke up from a deep deep hibernation.

Fallout 3 for me is gonna be one of the top games. Aside from Resident Evil 5. COD WAW, Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, Gears 2 and Dead Space.

Any particular reason for that mate or is it just becaus they're not gonna be released in 09? Saying this because CoD4 was released in 07 but is still considered one of the top games of 08 and also partly true of Halo 3.

I will edit them if you give me reason mind, not having a go.

I'm looking forward to:

• Resident evil 5
• Prototype
• Final Fantasy (maybe as have never played a final fantasy game!)
• Batman Arkham asylum (maybe depending on previews and review)
• Splinter cell conviction

• Bioshock 2 (most anticipated)

Also i hear there is a 'heroes' game coming out- interesting to see what that is going to be like.

I skimmed through but I could of sworn God Of War III wasn't on there... I could be wrong though.

For me, it's BioShock 2, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Tekken 6, Halo 3: Recon, and some of the others you guys mentioned that I wasn't aware of before (like The Godfather 2, etc.). And a few others I can't remember right now.

By the way, if I remember correctly, Splinter Cell: Conviction isn't supposed to come out for another year and a half or so. GameSpot posted an article regarding this a few months ago.

Gears of War 2 because of the multiplayer and Resident Evil 5 is the must have game of 09

I don't, but does anyone think Endwar will be a success? The demo was playable but not brilliant and they've left it too long for people to get it because of the hype.

I think the demo was great and I can't wait for the game personally! Didn't you like it? The preview on inside xbox say the online is one giant war!

Mass Effect 2 is my biggest hope for 2009, though no idea if it will happen.

Assassin's Creed 2 shouldn't be far off assuming they re-use the tools and engine they already have.

Because for a lot of CoD4 fans, Cod:WaW will seem pretty samey so the majority of players will probaly be 'Noobs' to the CoD series or dedicated CoD fans.

As for CoD 6, I'll add that in - didn't think of it because it comes so late in the year but yes, it will be released in 09.

Edit to add: @ terabyt - Nope, didn't really like Endwar in a 'Spend £39.99 (Yes, I'm English) sort of way' whilst I would still play it if I borrowed it from a mate.
