Can anyone tell me how much space is left on the HDD with all the pre-installed stuff from Microsoft. Mine says it ony has 13.9 GB free. Is that right? There is nothing on it as far as I can tell.

have a browse around and remove any of the trash.

5GB is always set aside for games to use, so they load faster and play better

Go to the media tab, then select memory. It will show you there everything that is on your HDD. First thing I did when I got mine was go and delete all the Halo crap that is installed on it.

that's about right... ~5 gig set aside for system stuff, and usually about a gig of junk you can delete.
