Knew it was coming. You see it with the console, seeing it alone's just a matter of time. After all, at least some of those bundled drives are gonna hit the secondhand market eventually. But at the same time, I've been hearing rumors that a slimmer 360 is coming, and unless they make it so the hard drive can fit on top, there won't be room for the thing on it. Rumor has it they'll finally release the restrictions on using USB drives as more than just media devices and promote them to full gaming devices for saves and so on.just saw on a tab on the dashboard the 250 was announced, no price was givein on the tab and the website isnt updated as of yet, to early i would expect but check it out later when they give us more info

Great Idea but not sure If I would need one that large. I will stick with my 20gb for now.jonzilla_basicThis unless the release causes a price drop on the 120Gb. Then and only then will I by saying bye to my 20Gb
Its funny since when releasing the MW2 console they literally said the HDD would not be available separately. Screw M$. For my PS I can get a 500GB HDD for all of 90 bucks. Don't be sheep...YoungSinatra25
So you are angry at Microsoft because they said one thing and did another? The irony is overwhelming.
Whats the point, there are rummors of USB support coming soon like for the PS3 so no need to get a microsoft HDDraylewisnfl52with a 16gb limit.... theirs your point

meh shant be going anywhere near it, I aint spending large amounts like that on a drive which for a pc would cost about £40 for a good quality one! MS really do need to stop taking the micheal out of its customers and just give the xbox 3rd party drive support
Its $130 dollars now. I think thats a reasonable price considering you get backwards compat with that.
I wonder how many people will actually need that much space. I can see a 120 GB HDD being all that I will ever need. Heck I could easily make a 60 GB HDD work. Good news nonetheless but just something I'm not too interested in.
Good for those who wants to go bigger. I have a 120gb since the Elite release and still have like 50gb left and I do download lots of stuff too. I have lots of demos downloaded that I just haven't deleted yet.

"We did it with the Modern Warfare bundle, which, as people know, was a huge success, completely sold out," he reminded us. "We're excited to bring it back with the limited edition Final Fantasy bundle." Greenberg said that the limited nature of the bigger drive is "part of what makes it special."

Although it can be found all over the net here's one link. And I agree when he says it wont be sold outside the bundle it does kind of make it special for those that bought the limited edition. Why they didn't make a 200 or 240 or 300 for that matter is beyond me. Yes I bought the MW2 bundle and yes it did make it kind of special, with this release the uniqueness is gone.
Did it change by ability to play a game on it, heck no. But that's not the point. When you say it's not going to be released stand alone why not honor that and not release it stand alone.

yes you can have two in at onceDidn't a few of the news stories mention though that you'd be able to use two sticks at once? Seems like I remember reading 16x2.

It still unique by looks:roll:I would get this hdd if it were at a reasonable price, but $130 is way to much for 250gb's. Unless they drop the price to $80 or less I'll just stick with my 120gb hdd.
im still usein a 20gb so ive been waitin for this to be offical, i was gonna get a 120 but it was no longer available by the time i was able to get one, so now im gonna nab this bad boyI would get this hdd if it were at a reasonable price, but $130 is way to much for 250gb's. Well, it was kinda obvious it would be sold seperatly at some time soon. Not crazy about the price. I did thought it would be higher knowing MS stupid pricing on stuff.
its out nowDoes anyone know when it will be released? I only have like a gig left on my 360. So I need a new hardrive.

It still unique by looks:roll:You're right, I was waiting for that comment as what I should have said is exactly what Greenberg points out "part of what makes it special". Yeah it still has the case which is unique, but the other part was the hard drive. Like I said it's not a big deal in any sense of the word as far as performance or "wah wah... I want the biggest hard drive", it just irritates me because if you say something is limited to limited editions then for the love of all that is good in this world have it be so. Again I couldn't care less if the new hard drive was a terabyte, just not the 250 and only for the fact that you said it wouldn't be released stand alone. I guess I look at it like this, if someone said I'm making a 1,2,3,4 and 5 gb thumbdrdive but the only one that is "collectable" is the 3 gig because it will be made in a very very small release number, and you're a collector which one would you be interested in? Of course you'd be interested in the limited availability of the 3, not because it's the biggest or the best looking but because you're a collector and it's going to be somewhat rare.
Anyway, yeah it's a small thing but still a crappy play on the part of MS for those of us that bought it believing them when they discussed how it would be limited in any fashon. Should I have known better, yeah I should have. Shame on me.
I was going to get a Super Elite but now I have gone for this instead.
I'm constantly having to juggle with storage space on my 20gb so now I can install all my games to the HD and get a few demo's as well without having the delete stuff I don't really want to delete.
Yes the price (£66 from Amazon pre-order price) is a bit excessive but it's not out of reach.
My console is one of the originals and touch wood not had a problem with it. This 250gb upgrade will do nicely for now.
does it come with a data transfer kit? i can't seem to find any information on that. if it does i'll pick one up since i have an original xbox 360 with the 20gb hard drive and its annoying to only be able to install one disk at a time. and 130 bucks it not really that much money so i can care less.
Edit: nevermind found out it does come with one, so i'll be making this purchase can't wait.
