3 red lights after update ...Walmart question

hey guys,

my console was working fine until after the update and now i have the 3 flashing lights and i tried all the troubleshooting tips. i called them and told them ive had a 360 since day 1 and this has happened to me once before and im sick of it.  they then told me my warrenty is up and i need to pay 100 and something dollars which i think its insane. 

after thinking about  it for a while, and realizing the halo 3 beta is coming in a couple days, i decided maybe buying a new one from walmart then switching harddrives and returning my old xbox..has anyone had any experiences with this??

lol no you must of misunderstood me, i meant to ask if anyone had any knowledge of anyone ever doing this...sorry about that haha
