3 Starter Games

If you like FPS games, then Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and BioShock will suit you perfectly (for the most part).

If you aren't getting another game for a long-time, most people would recommend Oblivion.

There are some other really good games in the Recommendations thread (it lists all genres and games under those genres), and should help you out a lot in the future.

Will you purchase a Live Gold Membership in the near future? If yes, go with CoD4 which has an addicting Multiplayer - It's going on a year since it's release and going strong. Check out Oblivion GOTY Edition and maybe Madden 09. My main reason for listing those three because they're all from diferent genres. It's nice to mix it up a bit. I started out with mostly shooters which the 360 is popular for and it got boring after a while.

peopl recomend halo 3 bt its crap apart from the multiplayer

For some variety, I would go with Gears of War, Mass Effect, and Dead Rising. Those games are just plain fun.

Oblivion is a great game that will keep you occupied for a while. Also Bioshock is a great FPS. Gears of War is a great third person shooter. Call of Duty 4 everyone loves but only if you have live. Halo 3 people say is great although i personally dont like it. Grand Theft Auto 4 is fun. Mass Effect is a Great RPG if your into that kind of game. Those are some good choices, but just do whatever looks good to you no one can decide what games youll like.
