Its not going to break if you touch it... So long as you take care of the system, and give it the respect, space, and care it needs, your Xbox 360 will grow and live happily ever after.
My first system died after two years, I'm on my second now. Let's hope this one last longer.
i had mine and that died on me after 3 months of having it with the red ring of death so i got a ps3 instead. but that was a old 360 they are alot better then what they were and i think they give you 3 years warrenty now so if it does fail 3 years warrenty means you just walk in with your receipt whenever and get a nice new oneshoemen22Wrong. They have to send it in to Microsoft for the 3 Year warranty, that gets REPAIRED, If they are unable to repair that console, they will send you a refurbished Xbox. Now if you buy an extended warranty, let's say at Best Buy, They will exchange it only once and they only have a 2 year warranty, which begins when you first purchase the Xbox. If you purchase the Xbox from Best Buy without the warranty, and go back within the 3 years they will deny your return, and refer you to the manufacturer to get it fixed.

Well I bought mine in July 2007 - it lasted about 21 months then got RROD. I called MS as it was under warranty, they arranged a courier to collect it, and 8 days later my new 360 arrived - it was March 2009 and the manufacture date on the new one was Feb 09.
Lots of people have their own horror stories from the early days of the 360, but MS have learnt from their mistakes and made multiple updates to the hardware. As it stands a new 360 is far less likely to fail than a launch model, but sadly from the figures that get published there is no way to tell the difference between new model failures and launch models.

My first one was a couple of days past warranty argued with M$ for like two hours and then finally got them too ship itWhen it concerns the RROD, buying the newest XBOX 360 Model is the best thing you could do. So if you just bought it recently, it's the least prone model to break.
