You should make your own decision and not let other people tell you how to spend your money.  If it were me, I would get a new 360 because of all the investment I have in it with games, controllers, etc.

Make your own decision.  And then feel free to keep it to yourself.

$139.00 will not get you a "new" 360. It will get you a refurbished one that will break also, eventually. If you're determined to have a 360 (maybe because you have alot of money invested in games) I suggest you buy a new one from a place that will offer you a store warranty (get the 2 year). When that one breaks, at least you can then get a new one from the store.

What moses said.

$139 will get you a refurbished Xbox 360.  It will be a broken 360 someone else sent in that MS says they "fixed".  Chances are, you'll get it and have problems with it.

I'm sorry to say, but the best thing to do is put that $139 towards a new 360 with an extended warranty.  It really blows that you can't sell your current 360 for some cash.  Maybe you can sell it on eBay to some hacker dude that wants it for parts or something.

Actually, I would call MS daily and complain.  Get them to drop the repair price at least in half.  When you get the refurbed unit, sell it while it works and buy a new 360.
