Not sure if this should be in the 360 forum or PC forum, but i'll try here first. Anyways, I was just wondering if you can hook up a 360 controller to your pc and use it as a gamepad, or if you have to buy one of those special PC/360 controllers?

I tried hooking mine up to a USB on my PC, and it didn't work. But that USB doesn't work half the time and I don't want to pull it out to get access to the other ones until I know if it will work or not, because that usually ends with a couple things being unplugged and me spending 15 minutes trying to find out what cables they are and then trying to plug 'em back in.

just download a driver for the pc for your controller to work on it. search it on google..takes less than 5 mins and saves about $ 20-40. not to mention saving a lot of time too.

if you have a wired controller then yeah just plug it in you may have to get custom drivers to get it to work with all pc games and if its wireless you have to buy the pc wireless adapter then you can connect your controller to your pc wireless

Yeah, it's wired so I don't need the adaptor.

But as for drivers, is this the one?

yeah that should work but like i said i dont think it will work with all games only games that support 360s controllers but ive heard of custom drivers that makes the 360 controller show up as a normal gamepad then a 360 controller allowing you to use it with all games and to custom the buttons as you want youd have to google it on your own though
