Hey guys I'm a little confused..

Me and bro were in a discussion before about the 360 and 360 elite, and as neither of us has really looked into the Elite, nor do we have an HDTV, whats the difference between the elite and normal 360, apart from the colour and 120 GB hard drive??

Can the normal 360 play on hdtv, or was that what was upgraded with the Elite??

Cheers =]

Sorry for the absolute n00bness of this question, we just got REALLY confused =]

Both are made for HDTV and both have HDMI outputs but you can play both on an SDTV. The only differences are the color the hard drive.

He is correct, however when they first came out the Pro systems were still packing the standard av output with no HDMI, now the pros have HDMI though.

When Elites were first introduced in the summer they were the only SKU with HDMI Ports so they were highly praised, by me, althought "times are a changin" and all the newer SKU's have HDMI too so the only real difference anymore is the Color and HDD.

I got the Elite and it has...for some wierd reason faster loading. It comes with lots of demos and arcade games and videos. Alot more than the normal 360. But the normal 360 is just as good.

Along with having the MUCH larger HD, it also comes with the HDMI cable... I believe you have to buy it seperate with the pro systems still. Since you don't have an HD TV anyways, I guess it doesn't matter now... only when you do get one!

It sounds like the Pro is the best option for you... just be sure to get a newer one with the HDMI as well as checking the usual indicators on the sticker to give you the best chance of getting a Falcon.

I reckon it does load faster. I was playing Oblivion on a normal 360 and then on my Elite and it was way faster. That might just be me though.

Falcon is the "codename" for the newer, thinner chips that run much cooler. They also use less power. Do a quick search on Google or the TeamXbox forums to learn more about how to pick out the latest consoles. Definatelybuy it from a store that moves inventory quicklyas well (BestBuy, Gamestop/EBGames, etc).

they say the only difference is the 120gig hdd and color. they both have hdmi, but what most have failed to mention is the elite comes with both the hd component cable and a HDMI cord, plus the digital av sound adapter. the pro doesn't come with an hdmi cord. with elite you also save $229 if you where to buy the 120gig hdd and hdmi separate.

The only difference is the color, 120 Gig HD, and it comes with an HDMI cable.
