Ive seen a lot of these back fans for the case for sale.  Does it reduce the chance of the console freezing after extended play ? not sure if I should throw down the 40 bucks to get one.

i dont think the fans are worth it..ive heard problems with the fans like they melt on the back of your 360 and such..i wouldnt get one i dont think its necessary. just keep your 360 in an open ventilated area and it should be fine.

no they're not worth it.  it's a scam, i've actually heard MANY people saying the fan has caused their 360 to die.  if your 360 is in a well ventilated place you shouldn't worry about this.

It does help with heat, and it will stop freezing, but both fan attatchment out now are noisy, and to me, makes it not worth it, as my X-Box 360 never freezes.........

I have heard many times that if youre going to get one then get the pelican that plugs into the usb port, stay away from the nyko, it will destroy your 360. I have a pelican and it really does reduce the heat of my 360, so I love mine.

a problem that i had with overheating is that i plugged in 360 into a extension cord with 3 plugs in it. the system would get extremely hot after only 30 minutes of having it on. but when i plug it directly into the wall i played for 6 hours at once (yes i have no life) and it wasn't even hot. the air coming out of the system wasn't even hot, the air coming out of the back is a little warm but that's how it's supposed to be. save your money, don't buy a fan, and plug it directly into the wall.

if your talking about the nyko intercooler than dont get it. that one is famous for causing hardware failures in 360s. go look at the product reviews for it at gesstop.com. Also, if you place that on your 360, and your 360 breaks, microsoft will not repair it.
