Far Cry 2 - It was actually a gift from my fiancee, and the two others she was considering preordering for me were Fallout 3 and Saints Row 2. I didn't have the heart to tell her those were the two I really wanted and wasn't interest in it. It was good at first, but freezing and the corrupt save glitch killed it for me.
FEAR 2 - I didn't actually preorder it, but Iwas reallyplanning on it. The only reasoni didn't was because I wasgetting it on the same system as a friend and he couldn't decide what he wanted it on. Another game I wish I never got it sucked so much.
If you've played all of those, you'll understand why I'll NEVER preorder a game again...

Maybe not to you, but the original Mercenaries rotates around in my top 3 games ever. The second one took everything good about it and blew it up. The story, the missions, the AI, the variety,the airstrikes,the dialogue - it all sucked, especially in comparison to the original.The ONLY good thing about it was destructible environments. With regards to Far Cry 2, like I said, it was decent. It was fun up until the point when the corrupt save glitch hit and on top of that, the game kept freezing. That completely killed it.
As far as FEAR 2, it's in the same boat as Mercs 2. FEAR is in my top 5 games. FEAR 2 took everything outthat was good about the original - the story, dialogue, scares, gameplay, atmosphere, effects, multiplayer.and even the graphics were worse.
