We have Viva Pinata, Cars, Lego Star Wars, Ninja Turtles, Kameo, and next week we are getting Rayman Raving Rabbids and Meet the Robinsons. PS3 currently has none.

Question is, do you think this will help drive sales in the 360's direction cause they have more children appeal?

Sorry, but Viva Pinata, as much as it appears as such, is not a kids game. That game is a nightmare to manage at some points and would quickly overwhelm most kids. What the 360 has is a lot of games that are just plain fun to play, no matter what age you are and that's its appeal. While it is definitely heavy on the rated M violent games, it strikes a balance with other games.

I'm signing you up for a pulitzer.

The 360 and the PS3 are targeting teenage, younger adults and adult publics. I think that having more kids games will help the company, but the Wii is the monster in the kids department.

Kameo is rated T for Teen. Its kind of violent. I wouldn't consider it a 'kids' game. I don't know the ratings for Lego Star Wars and Ninja Turtles but I feel the same way about those.

Take a look at the wii. The majority of that systems games are more kid like. Personally im 26 and loved kameo, lego star wars and reaving rabbids (on the wii(. It does help a system to have a diverse catalog of games.

basically the 360 has more diversity than the xbox had which makes alot more people happy and appeals to a larger audience.

Well, I'd actually say that the 360 is more geared towards the older gamer. That said, most kids nowadays are more interested in playing M rated games than the traditional 'kid's games', so I guess it'll draw a lot of attention anyway.

I think branding games as "kiddy" is the wrong attitude to take... There are Kid friendly games, and seriously adult-only... But at the end of the day if a game is fun, then it's fun. Thus, 360 is teh winnar :)

What would be the point of a system having games that were all violent, or rated M? Each console needs to have a balance, and needs to have a variety of different types of games, in order to thrive.

Yup, A+ post. Also TMNT is not a kids game IMO. Most kids these days probably don't even know what TMNT is. Lego Star Wars borders on kids game because it's so easy to beat, but the humor would be over most kids' heads.

Lego Star Wars is 100% a kids game. It's Lego for Pete's sake. The humor in the game is much like that of a Pixar film where kids have fun characters to look at and many jokes are geared for adults. Same thing here.
