So how is the hd dvd add on. I just got a brand spankin new 1080p 42 inch tv and im thinkin about picking this up. Hows the quality compared to the stand alone ones.

I have it, it's good. But you should get a standalone one, if possible an hybrid (plays HDDVD and blue ray). Just use the xbox for games, that way it 'll last longer

BTW I have an elite conected with HDMI, and it makes diference when compared with component

I 2nd the get a standalone comment. The A3 is only $20 more and is a better SD-DVD upconverter as well. Not to mention most stores have some great deals (eg: get 8-10 free discs including the rebate).

Stand alone is going to be better as you can watching transformers while your 360 is in for repairs

I have it and the picture looks great... for me it is better cause it is one less componet that hooks straight to my system... i have a PS3, Wii, 360, Direct TV HD, and Surround Sound DVD player combo receiver.... so if I got a stand alone player I am not sure where I would plug it or what shelf i would have room on... lol.
