Right, a year ago today, I got my xbox. I payed for live using a credit card, for 1 YEAR ONLY but I ended up selling my xbox 3 months later. And today, I got an email saying they have taken £40 out of the bank to pay for another year that is non-refundable, when I didnt buy another year. Also, the only way to cancel this yearly bank taking money thing is to contact them directly which, having experience with other customer services, will be expensive and long winded. Any idea why this would have happened and any easier ways to stop this?

Sorry man but the only to stop it is u are going to have to call MS and tell them to delete ur card off that account and then it wont be charged again. Thats how i did it and actually i didnt have one problem with them on it and it only toke la few minutes to get it taken care of.

If only we didn't have to pay in the first place for Gold *sigh* it's bad enough that we still have been paying $60 for 5 years!!

It always does the auto renewal if you use a credit card. I always found buying the cards was a lot less hassle.

This is why I never use credit cards for gaming subscriptions. I just get those Gold cards from retail stores or online. On the website they have an option where you can turn off auto renewal but you should contact MS.

yeah the auto-renewal thing is pretty shady. They should CONTACT people and ASK permission to renew before just charging the card again. I think i am going to find a way to turn off auto-renew and just buy an xboxlive card next time.

That's a horrible idea

I set up autopay because I don't want to be bothered

Here's the situation. Live is about 35 dollars a year at some store during the year. Either buy it there or they take it out of the card so your account doesn't lapse

I don't see a problem
